Not canceling it, but being realistic about it. It wasn't a normal rookie season due to health issues. He's not very good at that's a fact, but he has talent and is only 21 years old. The question is whether he can enough out of his talent to contribute on the NBA level. His off season dedication is a good thing and I want to see what he can do the rest of this year, this summer and early next year.

I am with you Grey - I think we have to give him another year.
I think the idea that Bennett will ever be a star has certainly faded. But Flip said going into this year he could see him as a useful rotational guy. I think that's still possible. I don't feel his play this year has been all that awful. His PER is currently 11.4. That's not good, but it's not "OMG - cut him!" bad. He's definitely looked worse recently than to start the year. I'm not sure why that is. Maybe he doesn't have "the motor" or maybe there is something else going on. Not sure. But he's shown flashes every once in a while that make me want to give it a little longer before throwing in the towel.

But doesn't he need to take some of the responsibility for it?
He came in woefully out of shape and unprepared. He had a shoulder injury... he wasn't crippled.

The breathing problem definitely played a role. Can you imagine trying to be a top level athlete while having breathing problems? I can't. Either way his play is definitely his responsibility. Like Flip said, he needs to get scrap & do the dirty work. Rebound, hustle, play solid defense, etc.

Definitely wasn't me. I was all for Thompson. We'd be in better shape with Thompson and the 1st instead of Bennett & Thad.

How can you question the spacing with Faried in 1 thread and then be pro Thompson in another? Thompson is a 60% FT shooter who barely knows what hand to shoot with. His whole offensive game is based around offensive put backs. He's Faried without being paid yet.

I'd question the spacing with both players, but that wasn't the debate. It was someone going back and forth with me saying that they'd rather have Anthony Bennett instead of Tristan Thompson, and I said they were flat out wrong.
PS: I like both Faried and Thompson actually. You asked what would it take to acquire Faried. I said I wouldn't trade for him. I don't think that's me saying he's not a useful player, but rather I wouldn't give away any of our valuable assets for him.

Cam, you look bad when you make posts like this. We always seem to hear about those things you may have been right on. Better to be humble than to have us start throwing all your inaccuracies in your face.
