Word is the Beaver has been practicing both sides of the ball and will likely play both ways this year as starting DT and RG. He is likely a shoe in for HOF at RG, but should do no worse than AllPro at DT.
You are so OpTIMistic about Beavers.
Like I have said before last year they were in good shape at DT with Floyd Joseph Johnson and Shamar. Could they have added a guy? Sure I would have been good with taking one. A year later Floyd basically wasn't a factor last year and he may be done and like you said other picks haven't worked out. It's a bit of a shame but sometimes things don't work out like you planned. For example going into last season the Vikings looked set at QB with a Teddy Hill and Heinicke. Now the Vikings are in a weird spot with possible 2 starting QBs but uncertainty about both of them and Heinicke we don't know anything more about than we did a year ago and Joel Stave is gone! Sometimes so think it's hard to build depth when you feel pretty good about guys you already have (I hear Beavers can also run the ball) but sometimes you need to make some picks at that spot anyway.
The good news is it seems there are some good DT in this draft that will be available for the Vikings to pick. It's clearly a need now even with Beavers emergence.
Yeah it explains a lot doesn't it? What is weird to me is why has this whole thing been kept quiet. It's made Floyd look bad. Kahns is just one guy that's been ripping the guy (or his doctors)...and it was just left out there to speculate about. Add insult to injury he seems unlikely to play AND they have to pay him. Ok I don't feel too bad for Floyd but still.
Just anothe thing that makes the Vikings front office look bad/incompetent. First Murray with a pre-existing ankle injury for a RB and now a DT with nerve damage that may end his career. How does the team not know about that nerve damage that may end his career before picking up his option this summer and if they did know how do you not let him go and try to sign him to a prove it deal? Just a really bad offseason from an information standpoint. They either don't know this stuff and are morons for not doing their due diligence or they are morons for still carrying on once you learn about this stuff.

Because he was injured they had no choice they can't decline an option on an injured player.
The Murray ankle surgery sounds pretty minor it seems like not a big deal.

I actually kinda like Keenum. The price sounds cheap and he makes sense. I'm with Jason I like TJ Yates more but Keenum is decent. I wonder if there is still a chance younger QBs beat him out of a spot. My guess is they would like to have a vet with experience but I think we know what Keenum is and who is to say the next Keenum or better could make the roster instead?
Well it's nice to have a vet option in case Symmank isn't good. Quigley ran a super slow 40 time so I dont want him when Symmank ran like a 4.5. Speed kills. Below is some info on when Quigley was a FA in 2016. As much as I tended to defend keeping Locke around (last year) Quigley seems to have had at least one good season in his career and comparing that to Locke had one decent season last year.
So Keenum's salary is basically only 1 million guaranteed. That certainly leaves the door open for a younger player to beat him out if someone impresses. I've seen it happen before with this team. Looking back it's kind of amazing that Rick was able to get a draft considerations out of Cassel. The 5th pick he received he traded down and ended up with Diggs. Not too shabby.
