I'm back in Minnesota now. Never got the chance to see the Bucks play.

I watched the highlights from the game last night. He looked pretty good and had some nice passes.

We saw a lot of talent in Vegas. I hope Connelly can sign one or two gems from Summer League. If the Wolves are looking for a two-way PG to replace McKinley Wright, they should consider McClung or Devon Dotson. Actually, I'd consider using one of our regular roster spots on McClung. He wasn't a standout in college, but he was definitely a standout in the G-League last season. He looked really good when I saw him in Vegas last week. I have a feeling he's going to be really good. I remember liking Dotson in college. He's super quick. I think he'd be a solid 2-way contract addition to the Wolves.

I think the concern I have for Dotson without watching him play as pro is his 3 point shot. I liked him at Kansas.

Very legitimate concern, Monster. I've always loved his quickness, ball-handling and penetration and those talents were on full display in Summer League. But I'm far from convinced he's developed or will develop into a decent 3-point shooter. In contrast, while McClung wasn't much of a three-point shooter in college, he shot really well from behind the NBA arc in the G-League last season. It's hard not to be high on him when you combine that three-point shooting development with his overall play in the G-League last season and what he showed in Summer League. He just looked better than most of the players around him - like an NBA caliber player who just took his game to the next level. Of course I could be completely wrong, but my eye test combined with his G-League stats last season give me a gut feeling that he's going to be really good and that the Wolves should snatch him now while they can. With 12 solid roster players I think the Wolves can and should use one of the three remaining spots on a young high-upside free agent like McClung.

Connelly has gone the safe or more sure route for the most part so far. He dealt picks and prospects for the sure thing, Gobert. He drafted Kessler and Monroe in the first round as fits with relatively high floors but limited ceilings. Bringing back Prince and signing Kyle Anderson we're both base-hit swings as well. The only home-run stroke Connelly has taken since coming here was picking Minott at 45. (I'm defining home-run swing as a bet on a player's upside, which is why I'm not thinking of the Gobert deal as a home-run swing even though the ball might clear the wall anyway).

Idk if Spagnolo is a HR swing for a stash guard at 50 but idk if I would say it was safe either.

McClung just looks like a guy with skill that's just at a different level athletically. His no step and Max vertical are some of the best ever recorded at the combine. A no step vertical of 36 inches is pretty impressive. He actually reminds me a little of Jason Williams with some flare and some creative quickness. I think he might be more of an Isaiah Thomas guy though because I think he has potential to score. Ok maybe something between Jason Williams and Isaiah Thomas. Yeah let's get him. :)

In case you didn't see McClung in Summer League a couple days ago. This is what we witnessed live. Check it out.

EJ Liddell tore his ACL. It sucks when players get hurt anytime but I feel extra bad for guys that get hurt their rookie year.

Wow. That's really too bad. He already had an uphill battle being a second-round pick as well as being "undersized." I hope he makes a full recovery. There's a very solid player there.

Ugh! I'm 4 months out from ACL surgery and a little over 5 months out from the original injury and I've since been dealing with repeated muscle tears behind the knee and hamstring pulls (they took the new ACL from a string of tendon and muscle in the hamstring). It's so infuriating. Just when I've thought things were improving, I have another setback and I'm limping again and dealing with pain and soreness. I didn't have these setbacks the first time I had this surgery, maybe because they used donor tissue that time. But either way, I'm seriously pulling for Lidell now if for no other reason than I can identify with the frustration that comes with that injury. Get better kid!

Sorry to hear you aren't recovering well Drew. Hopefully one way or another you can get on track for recovery.
