The Warriors loved playing for Marc Jackson. Clearly they made a major mistake letting him go because his players loved him. That's all that matters. You tried hard and you won some games and you never sniffed a title. Somebody get this guy a trophy.

Wait a minute now. I don't think anybody has claimed he's among the very best coaches, only that he's a good coach with a good track record.

In fact, I noted the context multiple times. The Wolves don't have a chance with the Popovich or Carlisle or even Doc Rivers. So, to rip Thibodeau with his track record because he's seemingly not good enough or not as good as the other coaching hires taking over a 66-loss team for what's probably the league's 2nd worst franchise in modern history... seems myopic to me.

[Note: Jackson won 51 games with Warriors in his best season. Remember, Thibodeau's winning percentage is even higher than that over 5 seasons.]

Cam thinks he's a top 5 coach so somebody did call him a top coach.

And yet, you're the smartass going off topic. Nobody's talking about what the Bulls (or Warriors) should do or did do. The conversation starter was should Thibs be the Wolves coach if it was possible. The correct answer is yes.

I don't think whoever the Wolves have coaching is going to turn them into title contenders for the next 4-5 years. So, if you are worried that Thibs is going to grind Wiggins, LaVine, Towns/Okafor into the dust than he isn't your guy. If you think that Thibs could help elevate their play and push them into the playoffs (that's me) than you would like to see him here. But in the end Flip will still be the coach

Have I summarized this debate fairly?

You mean the year he had the MVP of the league? That must have been all him coaching that team to all those wins. It had nothing to do with having the best player in the league that year who made his disgraceful offense look acceptable with his normally great defense.

Thibs had no role in Rose becoming a MVP?

To be fair, most of the nucleus of that team went only 41 - 41 the previous season with a different coach. They went 62 - 20 with Thibodeau.

You can point to only the development of Rose... or note that Rose's development AND Thib's/Adam's defensive input (jumped from #11 to #1) had something to do with it.

I've very clearly given my reasons why I don't want Thibs to be my coach. The smartass comments come in when you guys give us smartass comebacks telling us about how great he is and calling us things like myopic among other things because we aren't ok with a guy who's going to run this team into the ground to the tune of a good regular season record with no real post season success. Get off your fucking high horses. You come at us putting our opinions down because it doesn't match yours and then you bitch at us for smartass posts that you guys prompt with your own smartass posts? I want the right coach, not just a better coach.
