LaVine and Jones divide the PG minutes. The SG minutes get divided among LaVine, Shabazz and Wiggins. I see Shabazz more as a SF and even a PF in a small-ball lineup, but Flip has talked about playing him at SG. I also see Wiggins as more of a SF than SG, but I can see him at the SF position. Flip can always pick up up a D-League PG if necessary mid-season.

Hey Lip. For reasons listed above, I'd prefer not to have LaVine play PG. I understand that's what Flip would do in the event of an injury to Rubio with the way our current roster is constructed, but I would much prefer to have a 3rd PG in the team.

This board has a way of being anal retentive sometimes. Once again we are talking about adding another point guard.

1) This subject has been talked to death for some reason already.
2) This subject is about as important as who inflates the balls on game days
3) Flip has already said he is comfortable with his point guard options at this point.

Aren't there better things we could be discussing?

If you aren't interested, perhaps you could a) bypass the topic, and b) start a thread on something you find more interesting. There are always topics I run into which I take less of an interest in and I just pass over them - no biggie. You can do the same.

I have to take some responsibility. This started in my effort to be a "glass half full" guy. I should have never changed.

I was interested the first couple times this made its way through various threads. Perhaps if the discourse had a new twist I could be lured back in.

For some reason I thought the thread was about Anthony Bennett. At least that's what the title would have suggested.

It morphed into a thread about PGs because of the real possibility of AB being traded away and potentially opening up a roster spot. My view is we could use a 3rd ball handler, which in turn led to a lengthy debate. It's not unusual for long threads to morph into various topics....If you aren't interested, just move on. There is no need for a critique.

Thanks for the advice, pardon my board etiquette.

I love KJ McDaniels but he's on Houston's roster. I probably like him a bit more than GR3 even, but give each of them a couple years to develop and I think they are solid rotational guys that can help on both sides of the ball. On another note, we really need a D League affiliate.

If Glenn was named Gary Robertson and didn't have the big dog for his father is there even a conversation to find him playing time? He was a glue guy in college who was not impressive in any particular way. What about that says NBA rotation guy?

GR3 has incredible athleticism and some found fault with his unselfish play (as some labeled him too passive) and that's why he slid from a top ten player to the second round. I actually like his unselfish play for a good glue guy. He's only been in the NBA one season and had hardly any real minutes to develop. He should have been in the D League developing his game. Now, if AB hadn't been taken first overall, would anyone even give him another look after two really bad years in the NBA?

Of course they would be giving him another look...guys like Lou Amundson continue to get looks, and he can't carry AB's jockstrap. Any GM familiar with how AB played at UNLV has to be intrigued with his potential, even after two injury-plagued seasons.

I remember doing my research for the 2013 draft and I wasn't that impressed with AB then. Granted it was a really weak draft and I don't think there were any sure fire studs in the draft, but Oladipo and Noel seemed like the surest bets. AB was being targeted in the 5 to 10 area on most mocks and then Cleveland shocked most everyone when they made AB the first pick. I think any potential AB showed while at UNLV has been negated by his poor showing in the NBA after two seasons. We got rid of Flynn and Wes after their second years and got rid of DWilliams after two and a half seasons. I was never impressed with Flynn and Wes from day one and sure enough neither panned out. It became clear by DWill's second season that he wouldn't pan out either. Given that I've never been impressed with AB, I certainly won't have any regrets if Flip decides to dump him after two uninspiring NBA seasons.

Clearly you've forgotten about Robbie's ability to run the offense!
