We're told that the Knicks have not made a move at the trade deadline. They talked to Minnesota about Ricky Rubio, per sources. They also inquired about Kevin Martin, according to ESPN's Marc Stein. But they were unable to execute a deal."

What would NY have to offer?

Absolutely nothing.

It's hard to say nothing when they're a better team than us. Robin Lopez would be a nice piece next to Towns and Dieng. I know a lot of people liked Grant going into the draft. If they had one more good asset that would be a deal to consider and maybe they could convince a third team to provide a young piece for Afflalo (maybe a Ben McLemore).

In a trade for Rubio they have nothing to offer us, unless they trade Melo.

That's just not true. Ricky isn't an all-star so why do you think his value is so high?

You don't have to be an All-Star to be really valuable.

He is a starting level PG who is still pretty young. What starting level player do they have to give us in return?

They have nothing to offer us to move the needle, no draft picks this year, no young players and they have average role players. Ricky can't get us porzingas, or Melo (don't want him) and we lose value with everyone else in their roster
