Actual Trades

Post by TeamRicky [enjin:6648771] »

Well, we've had a ton of rumors and finally a trade is in.

Detroit gets Tobias Harris
Orlando gets Brandon Jennings and Ersan Ilyasova

I like the trade better from Detroit's perspective. Harris is better than Ilyasova and Jennings was stuck on the bench. Orlando has a glut of capable point guards: Payton, Oladipo and now Jennings. I wouldn't be surprised if they still planned to move Oladipo. The other thing is I think they want to play Gordon or Hezonja at the 3.

I think Detroit just stole from Orlando. Really poor move, IMO.

Nice trade for Detroit. Harris is a nice player seems like a no-brainier for them. Jennings gets to go back to being coached by Skiles who seemed to really like him which always seemed like a positive for Jennings in my book.

Jennings was leaving Detroit anyway.

And Harris is better and with a higher ceiling than Ilyasova... and locked up for a few more years.

Charlotte gets Courtney Lee
Memphis gets PJ Hairston, Chris Andersen and two 2nds
Miami gets Brian Roberts

[Edited: as the two team deal now became a three team deal]

I've always liked Courtney Lee and think Charlotte got the better of the deal.

Yeah they got the best player but I'll be curious what the 2nd rounders are. Memphis needs chances to get younger and maybe Hairston turns out to be something. Lee is a FA after this year I think this was a good trade for Memphis if they don't think they will end up making the playoffs with Gasol out.

Edit: That 3 team trade looks even better for Memphis getting a warm big body in the deal.

Edit #2: Miami is also sending two 2nd round picks to Memphis for taking Birdman and so even with one of the Miami 2nds being highly protected three 2nd round picks Hairston and the hope that Birdman still has something left seems like a pretty solid haul for a solid player on Lee. I'd be happy with a 2nd for Martin. Lol

Detroit got a steal with Harris. He is going to be great plying with a defensive force in Drummond as a stretch 4 for svg.

Orlando could have done better if they want to trade Harris. Jennings will look for a starting opportunity next season and ersan is a a good role player but Harris has a lot of potential and is only 23!
