Since Ant got drafted to the wolves they've been one of the best teams in the league. By what metrics are you using if not team success?Coolbreeze44 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 05, 2026 7:33 pm Lip, the only way that's going to happen is if Ant himself sets the example. And I don't think he has the mettle to do it. I'm talking day in, day out being the leader this team needs in it's best player. He simply doesn't have the overall character to be the main man on a championship team. And history is going to prove it.

I'm talking about winning championships, which is all I care about. We haven't won a championship. We haven't played for a championship, even though we were favored to against Dallas. Ant is a supremely gifted player, but he isn't leading the Wolves to a title. Both things can be true.guest81 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 05, 2026 8:24 pmSince Ant got drafted to the wolves they've been one of the best teams in the league. Aussie, stick your neck out like I do. If you disagree so much, how many years before the Wolves win a championship with Ant as the hub? Don't just disagree with everything I say. I feel like Trump on MSDNC. Tell us when it's going to happen.AussieWolf3 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 05, 2026 8:38 pmHe's. Twenty. Four. Years. It's hardly sticking your neck out to say we won't win a championship with [insert any player] as our leader. If the NBA just drew straws every year to decide who would win a title, odds are the Wolves would have only won one title in its entire history as a franchise so far. There is nothing bold in what you are saying.Coolbreeze44 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 05, 2026 9:11 pmAussie, stick your neck out like I do. At the same time, I too have my doubts about Ant becoming an MVP-caliber player, but that's based on how he performs on the floor, where I suppose some of his immaturity does manifest itself.

I agree with what you're saying, but again, all I care about is championships. It's that lens from which I write. I've told you why i think the way that i do, and given you reasons. And all I ever get is, "you just hate Ant, or "He's only 24 years old". I offer strong opinions because that's what i think you should do on a forum like this. And the people I respect on here are the ones that do the same, whether I agree with them or not.Q-is-here wrote: ↑Mon Jan 05, 2026 9:22 pmIt's hardly sticking your neck out to say we won't win a championship with [insert any player] as our leader. I don't just disagree with everything you say, but I don't understand your need to predict the future off what seems to be a deep animus for Anthony Edwards.Coolbreeze44 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 05, 2026 9:11 pmAussie, stick your neck out like I do. I have absolutely no desire to predict when and if the wolves will win a championship, because I think that's silly.
I do however, understand the body of work that Ant has put forth in his very young career and understand that it is predictive of greatness. That's why I bring up his age.
You look at what he is now and say that he can never be a leader, while I look at someone who is in the process of becoming who he will be. No player in NBA history was the fully realized version of themselves at 24, and I'm willing to give Ant that grace without predicting that he will pay it off in a championship. Was Jordan the leader he would become when he was 24- only 2 years into his career?
I quite literally am only preaching patience because Ant has accomplished more before his 24th birthday than some players accomplish over their entire careers. He has gotten better every year and I'm willing to bet he will continue to do so- based off real evidence, not a distaste for his alleged lifestyle choices.
Re: Can I Have Another? - Wolves at Wizards GDT
I think your position on Ant is defensible, but it's hardly bold when 29 out of 30 teams fail to win a title every year. Ant's window is fairly narrow in the big scheme of things and the NBA is better than ever with multiple elite players in their prime.Coolbreeze44 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 05, 2026 9:34 pmI agree with what you're saying, but again, all I care about is championships.
