Can I Have Another? - Wolves at Wizards GDT

Post by 60WinTim »

We had a solid, professional win last night. It sure would be nice to get another!

Finch's 8.5-man rotation is coalescing. The starters along with NAZ and Bones. Mike's minutes are generally being kept under 20, which slots him in as #8 in the rotation. Clark gets the half. With a bunch of back-to-backs coming up, I wonder if they will rest Mike any of those games? If so, with Shannon sidelined, Dilly ought to get an occasional chance at minutes. Seems like tonight's game against the Wiz would be as good an opportunity as we are going to see.

We should all be hoping for solid games from NAZ and Randle. Not only does it help winning, but it wouldn't hurt their trade value heading into the trade deadline!

Another date coming up is January 10th -- the day Bones' contract becomes guaranteed. It sure seems like a no-brainer...

The wife and I are heading to DC for the game. Nice that it is an early game, we get to hit a few bars afterwards!

What a great night...a Wolves win, and then hitting the Georgetown bars!

Doesn't it seem like we've had a lot of games recently against East teams with bad season records but recent success? Well here we go again. The Bulle...um...the Wizards were 1-15 at one point, but have been pretty much a .500 club since the start of December, and have won 4 out of their last 5. Their last win over the Nets is tainted because Brooklyn was missing several key players, but wins over Toronto and the Bucks (with Giannis) were legit. It's another game where if we play around with our food, it will be a long plane ride home tonight.

But the Wolves are favored by 12 1/2, and I think we should be. Sure it's the back end of a BTB, but the Wolves are 2-0 this season on back ends when not facing the best basketball player in the world. And the Wizards will be missing a good starter in Kyshawn George. But they still have a nice mix of NBA vets and hungry young guys, so let's hope our guys show up. I thought we were active on defense, played with better pace than usual, and pounded the offensive boards well against Miami...gotta repeat all three tonight.

You guys know I'm down on Ant, and his -2 last game in a 10-point win didn't change my mood much. He's dangerously close to falling below Rob in on/off (and only ahead of Shannon), so I'd like to see him have a good game tonight. He'll most likely be on-ball most of the night, so it's up to him to push the pace. Jaden flourishes in the open court when we play fast, but he's not as effective in the half court. I want to see Ant play less deliberately and help Jaden have a productive game after a couple stinkers.

Denver is going to lose to the Nets (they're down 17 in the 4th Q, despite getting Gordon and Braun back), so we can move within a half game of 3rd place with a win. Get us a victory, D'Natagal!

Rudy and Bones were still out warming up an hour before the game. Rudy was hitting about 40% of his 3s.
Ant and Jaden are both smiling and having fun in warmups. Hope that bodes well?

Well, I know Jaden is a huge SpongeBob fan, so that makes sense. Seriously, Jaden has seemed a little off emotionally the past few games, so it's good to hear he and Ant are loose and having fun. I only hope that doesn't mean they're not taking this game seriously though.

Ant called for Jaden to get those 3 plays on a row. Get him involved!
Ant pointed at Sarr after that layup and Sarr pointed at Ant after his dunk.

Sarr wants too take Rudy every play.
Ant is already pissed at the refs. The ref gave him a single finger motion... like that was your 1 complaint. He was lucky he didn't get T'ed on that one.
