Very interesting. Happy TC passed on Coby. I do think we’ll end up with Giannis. If we end up getting Giannis I probably won’t like the deal given what we’d likely give up to get him and my misgivings about his health as well as the track record of failed big-game acquisitions. However, I love Giannis and will be relieved it’s not James Harden. :). Giannis is special. I’ve mentioned a lot that I think we have the talent to contend for a championship but lack the mentality - the intensity and mental toughness. Well, Giannis brings both great talent and great intensity. If we’re going to big game hunt for a 30-something veteran star, Giannis is the guy to pursue.
I feel the same Lip. The greatest part of potentially acquiring Giannis is how it would take Ant to the next level. Giannis brings it every night. Some would argue Ant doesn't. Add KG in the ownership group and we would some real dogs in this organistation.

My biggest wish is that TC can pull it off without losing Jaden and to a lesser extent Naz.
If TC could get Giannis while keeping Ant and Jaden he will be GOATED. Key to the city, statues, street names, parks, national holidays, the full 9
I'm on it. Getting a quote from Statue Builders R Us as we speak.

Windhorst on NBA Today said, none of the trades announced today are finalized until the deadline, and can expand, add players, and or teams. I wouldn't be surprised if no big trade happens Coby or Ayo ends up getting included in that deal. Unless the Wolves want ditch the luxury tax entirely to restart the repeater tax clock in which case they will try to dump Rob as well.
This makes a lot of sense

If we’re able to trade for Giannis, I hope we can keep Joan out of the deal, but guessing that he would have to be included. Ideally the outgoing pieces would be Rudy, Randle, Dilly, Clark and TJ. I really think Joan will be good and if the rest of the league isn’t wise to that yet, maybe they won’t insist on him.

I’d like to believe the Bucks would take Randle rather than Naz or Jaden, but that’s a pipe dream. If the Bucks trade Giannis they’re obviously moving into full rebuild mode and that means they’d insist on Jaden or Naz - possibly both. No way would I trade both. Actually, I would not trade either because I don’t think acquiring Giannis for either one and the other assets we would have to give up would be prudent given where Giannis is at in his career, including his current injury and recent history of nagging injuries. Having said that, it would certainly be exciting. Giving up Jaden rather than Naz would probably means we wouldn’t have to give up as many other assets.

If somehow Jaden AND Joan aren't included, then Milwaukee really effed this up on their end! To me, that's where the negotiatons start from their perspective. But yeah, would be great for us if neither were included.

Then again, may be this whole thing ends with us getting one of the Chicago or Memphis guards and the Giannis stuff is put on hold until the summer.

Forgot about Beringer. I have no doubt he’s be included.

If Jaden is kept out of it, I'll be fine with whoever is in it.
That's how I feel. If we maintain Jaden you can plan the parade. And I have hopes Ant has talked to Giannis about that being one of the conditions on him wanting to go to Minny.

In a Giannis deal, i'm sorry but Beringer is gone. I'm thinking the biggest pieces going out will be Randle, Beringer, NAZ, Rob, and whatever draft capital we can acquire.

Could be. Two things we have to keep in mind: There are a lot of teams that covet Giannis, and draft capital is usually a big component of deals like this...and we can't compete with other teams with respect to that. So I have to believe there is no way a Giannis deal happens without Jaden being one of the pieces.

I'd love to be able to tap the phones of TC and the Bucks GM...can't even imagine what's flying back and forth. But if I had to guess, the Bucks won't trade us Giannis unless we include young talent and also take Kuzma. So I think they are asking for something like Giannis and Kuzma for Ju, Naz, Jaden and Joan. TC knows he is going to have to give up Jaden to get a deal done, but he's not going to give up Jaden and Joan, so he's trying to sub in Miller and Clark for Joan. Don't know if the bucks would bite on that, but I'm guessing that or something similar will be needed to beat the competition.

And I know the Bucks are rumored to be saying they are going to do right by Giannis by trading him some where he wants to go. But come on...management knows that if they do a crappy deal and the fans are unhappy, they lose their jobs (hello Nico Harrison). So ultimately they are going to use Giannis's status as a top 3 player in the league (and maybe the best 2-way player) to extract a king's ransom from the highest bidder. We'll have to see how high TC is willing to go.

Cool, I know you love Jaden, as do I. But I haven't heard one reliable pundit suggest a deal that doesn't include him. I'll eat crow if I'm wrong (and celebrate while I'm doing it), but Jaden is the starting point for any Giannis deal. Our other pieces just aren't attractive enough.
