Kelan Martin with 37 points on 17 shots in only 25 minutes. Went 6-7 from 3.
Watch though, because in the next game he'll go for 3-10 for 7 points.

The important thing is that Martin has games like last night where he puts up elite numbers. That tells you he's a high level talent. Note that he always plays really hard and with passion. I saw it in Summer League and every time he's played with the MN Wolves. With those attributes, I'm confident that he'll develop consistency. He and Nowell should be up with the NBA club the rest of the season. All of Crabbe's minutes and most of Culver's minutes should be reallocated to Martin and Nowell.

The problem is until Turner and/or Spellman get bought out Martin pretty much needs to stay in the G- League his days must be getting close to being over in his 2-way

They could be playing that other wing they got in the Warriors deal if they wanted. Kinda puzzling they played Vanderbilt the other night over spellman. I mean Spellman has the beef and is a shooter.

The word is that Rosas believes Vanderbilt fits the system better than Spellman. Remember, with Rosas it's all about the system. Apparently, that's why Nowell hasn't getting much burn in Minnesota. The Wolves front office isn't impressed with his mastery of the system.

This system sucks and the blind allegiance to it from all parties is troublesome.

LOL, of course Martin goes 4-16, 0-6 from 3 in the Iowa Wolves return to action after the break. 9 points in 32 minutes and a -20. Just classic Kelan.
Spellman had 20 points, but it took him 20 shots.
Vanderbilt faired better, with 16 points, 14 rebounds, 2 steals, and 3 blocks in 26 minutes off the bench.

I have a lot more hope for both of those bigs than I do Kelan Martin. The inconsistency to make shots and the lack of anything else worthwhile in his game makes him just short of an NBA-caliber player for me.

Vanderbilt intrigues me, that's for sure. Has the athletic/skill profile of one of those gap-fillers this team could so desperately use. Boards like a monster, has some handles and floor vision, can defend a couple positions. Worth keeping an eye on him.

Im also intrigued. Bobby Marks compared him to Jermi Grant in the pod with Lowe. Said broken foot held him back and now looked really good in G- League and Las Vegas showcase. Not saying he will be anything but im interested.
I don't think Spellman will ever play with wolves. Rumors are he asked out and the wolves aren't calling him up with Towns hurt. Would rather play James Johnson at Center. I think that says something
