Agreed played well tonight. Still so embarrassing
Yeah, we know GS is a super team, but their 4th quarter disastrous run might have been the most stunning of the year. We need to find a way to stop these collapses...it's baffling.
I honestly think some of the problem is ricky this is the second wolves era (love/young guys) where we blow lead after lead and can't win a close game and Ricky is the same variable
Ricky has as much blame as the rest of the players. No more, no less. All 15 players are to blame. But Thibs is the X Factor and he's taken virtually the same team that Smitch had and taken losing to a whole new level.
I used to be with you on the ricky train. But continue evidence and longevity of the same thing year after year is changing my mind. They don't even rotate it him anymore. I am ready to move on from him and that is a different opinion I have had in the past. I think he is a negative now.
Ricky led the team with a +3 tonight. When Ricky was on the court, the Wolves were a plus 3 positive, when he left the court the Wolves were a -11. If Ricky was out, we'd have lost by more.
The problem with Ricky is that his 3-point shot is at a career worse right now. He hasn't always shot it this bad. But yes, on a night like tonight, those wide open misses were just killers. He did some other very good things while on the floor, but he's got to knock down a couple of those outside shots.

I get that it is a silver lining, but that is downright depressing. The Sixers now have as good of record as we do. Only Dallas is worse. That is embarrassing considering the talent, coach, and relatively good health of our squad.
Watching this game tonight, it feels like the only two guys that communicate are Rubio and Dieng. You always hear Dieng shouting out defensive instructions and Rubio doing the same on offense. I never hear anyone else. May be the rest are quiet talkers (?).

Yes Rubio is yelling grab the rebound every time he shoots. ;)

Question:
We always hear about how communication is a good thing. I know there have been a bunch of quotes from Kevin Garnett about how everyone should always be talking. I think everyone here would agree with that. It helps keep the team together in a way.
So, why has this board had discussions about whether or not Thibs yelling from the sideline is destructive? What is he saying that would be different from a player on the floor? Or can we concede that it's a silly talking point and we should just move past it?

But down the stretch guys get tough shots because no rotation to ricky. Then he hasn't made people pay. Spacing is terrible when the ball isn't in Ricky's hands. I used to agree with you but I think two eras of wolves and same problem on end of game struggles for his career.

Apparently, you think his assist total is understated :)

Well, it gets back to your Olive Garden analogy. At some point, you want your team on the front line to execute things autonomously, without you having to constantly bark out orders to them every three seconds. From a management perspective, it means that a) he either doesn't trust his guys, b) he's not teaching them how to manage and communicate among themselves, or c) is such a micro-manager, he wouldn't know what to do with himself if he gave up control.
A great manager is one whose team can be successful without him. That enables him to go off and do other more strategic things. At the same time, the team is empowered to make decisions on their own and hold each other accountable.
If you're giving up 116 points, you're not winning much of anything. Everyone wants to blame Ricky, but these problems will remain here because if they continue playing like this, Dunn's not exactly a great spot up shooter either.
Thibs has to be real with himself. Isoball isn't conducive to this team. It's conducive to the stars, but they're not good enough to carry that kind of load.
