We know it interests you as well as many of us. But the real question is whether it interests the Sixers. I doubt it.

They have to move somebody. You can't hold on to Noel, Okafor, Embiid and Saric. At some point, they have to move assets to help in other areas. The only two players that teams would pay something of value for right now is Noel and Okafor. Have to think they want to build around Okafor, no?

Not sure if they are convinced that Okafor is a "build around" type of talent. But he almost forces you to build around him because he's not of much use unless he gets a bunch of touches in the low post. It would be very much an old-fashioned inside-out post-centric offense. It's not that it can't be effective, but it seems easier to figure out for modern day defenses than a pace & space or flow type offense.

Noel on the other hand seems more like a modern-day defensive big man who can guard multiple positions, hedge hard on PnR, block shots, get steals - all the stuff that we'd want on the Wolves. I'm pretty sure Philly loves that stuff too.

So I think they are much more likely to try and move Okafor vs. Noel. Or may be they just keep rolling with both for another year before making a move.

I agree, that is very interesting just trying to land Gasol. That would be a huge blowup for Memphis. I assume they want to stay relatively competitive in light of losing Conley. I just didn't think that would be as realistic as targeting Conley alone. Honestly I don't think any of these things will happen. At the most I see Martin for junk.

No way in hell would I trade Lavine unless it's in a package for a legit star. He has way too much potential and has shown good improvement this year.

Its reported that Houston is actively shopping Dwight Howard. Boston is the rumored front runner, but I could see Cleveland try to make a play too.

Cam, I dont think the Sixers would move Noel either, and I think it'll be at least a year before they think about moving any of their bigs, if then.

Embiid looks like Greg Oden 2.0 (or worse since he's never even played), and Saric hasn't played a minute in the NBA either. If those two situations change, then a year from now or so they'll have to move a big, but Noel is probably the LEAST likely to get moved. Again, that's IF Embiid and Saric work out.

They MIGHT try to move Embiid this offseason, but who would take that risk?

No. Payne's at least cheap and healthy.

Calderon is rumored to be available. I think his salary is close to KMart's. I wonder if the Knicks might consider that one. He could be a decent back up to Ricky until we can groom a young guy to take over that role.
