Burkes number's looks pretty bad, but I think he's in a role that's a little too much for him. Being asked to do too much for a bad team could explain those numbers. I think he'd look a lot better in a lesser role as a backup to Ricky.
Just the same as if Bazz was a starter on the Jazz right now, I'm guessing his numbers would be pretty bad
I agree we need a backup PG, but I think Shabazz would put up fine numbers as a starter. He seems to thrive in that roll.
(BTW - Jose Calderon has not even played this year yet for the Knicks so they know what they have at PG without him.)
I think Corey Brewer is the perfect comparison for Bazz. When Brewer was first drafted by the Wolves, he looked like a huge bust. It was because he was asked to do way too much for a bad team. It wasn't until he found his role with Denver as a hustle guy off the bench did he become valuable. If you ask Brewer to do more then that, then he's gonna struggle. Exact same thing with Bazz.
I don't see the what you are saying. Shabazz is physical and aggressive. I see Shabazz as a guy that can start do 2 things well. Score and rebound.
Brewer is know for energy period.
I think in time Shabazz could be a good guy off the bench, but at this time he seems to play better starting.

The comp is weird because their bodies are totally different in a lot of ways but saying Bazz does 2 thing well and saying Brewer only 1 is selling Brewer way short. Brewer has always given energy and has always been elite at taking the ball away. Its not just gambling either the guy can flat out take the ball away from anyone. I remember he took the ball away from Nash once when Nash was just dribbling the ball up the court and Brewer picked him like he was a little kid. Ultimately what we know about both guys is they play hard have a couple skills that are really useful. We will see what Bazz can develop and what skills he can take advantage of.
Its a good point about Burke struggling with his shot in a big role. I'm not saying the guy won't be good but that's some brutal shooting. Would he be a nice backup PG for this team? Maybe but at 10 if that's the way you wanted to go I would have taken MCW all day over Burke even though he couldn't shoot. I was really high on him but he made no sense with Rubio. Wolves needed wings in the absolute worse way no way you take a PG there unless you think they can play with rubio or are by far the best talent. I'm getting off track. Burke got thrown in to heavy minutes got to put up some numbers and play a lot. Bazz the opposite. Having Dieng is the real Gem of the trade and he was my guy I wanted him really bad. Its really early for all those guys so we will see how it plays out. I'm not cheering against Burke that's for sure.
