A question, and a Wolves/Knicks GDT
Here's today's question...who are the 2 tallest Wolves suiting up tonight, other than Gorgui.
I'm thinking about going to the game tonight, but I'm not sure. Even though the game is a pick 'em (seems like a gift for gamblers who want to make some easy Knick money), it's difficult to see how the Wolves win without three starters and Turiaf, and with Anthony Bennett as our back-up center. But I guess stranger things have happened. I don't think many people thought the Nuggets would blow out the Cavs in Cleveland a couple nights ago.
It's difficult to see how a team that shoots the ball as well as the Knicks can be 3-9, but I think the answer is this: they don't rebound, and they don't start a real PG...Anthony leads the team in assists, and Stoudemire leads them in rebounds, albeit in limited minutes. They are a weird team, but I'm afraid they shoot the ball well enough to take advantage of our porous defense and depleted roster. Knicks 105-100.

For me, this game will show Flip's coaching ability as much as anything. He was dealt a huge blow with Rubio going down and really didn't have any practice time to adjust during the road trip. Now, he's had that time. He's down three starters, but he's had time to prepare. I don't expect them to win. But I do think they can be competitive.
Personally, I sort of want Flip to start Mo and bring LaVine off the bench. The last few games we got behind big early in part because of LaVine (and poor defense). That doesn't mean I don't want to see LaVine play or think he will be a bad player. I'm just saying IMO, I'd rather see him go against the other team's second string guys vs. their starters until he gets more experience.
Also, would love to see a big night from any of: Wiggins/Bennett/Dieng/Bazz/LaVine. They are young, but any of them could bust out at any time.

Carlo's,
Don't forget Shabazz. I think he could have a big game just as much as anyone, but if I had to pick one player to have a big game. It would e LaVine.

I'm a big Shumpert fan, so I'm looking forward to watch him play against our wings.
The big question is how well Wiggins can handle Carmelo. He did well against Harden, but Harden's smaller. Wiggins has already problems with bigger guys like Joe Johnson and Tobias Harris. Melo's playing lights out right now, so this might be the kid's biggest test. I hope it doesn't get ugly.

I'd love to see Bazz get 25 minutes tonight, and some time guarding Melo.

I see Bazz getting 20+ pts tonight. There seem to have been rumblings that his PT will increase. I see it happening.

I just checked on Bovada and the Wolves are actually favored by -1....
I may have to bet a large lump sum on the knicks....

I think this is one of the games that Thad might have been a good matchup against Melo. Has more bulk, but still quick laterally. Too bad, we don't have him tonight.

Agree, Young would be a good matchup for 'Melo. Also agree that we'll get absolutely screwed by the officials.

I agree. I think Bazz would be fun to see on him too because in the past Melo has gotten frustrated when guys get physical with him and Bazz is all about that.
Its good to hear that Bennett says his knee feels great. I hope he is telling the truth I'm looking forwatd to seeing those young bigs play. I would love to get a win cause I don't like the knicks even with Phil and Fish running the team. I'm sticking with the idea that if we can avoid an embarrassing loss that's almost a success considering the circumstances.
