All you need to know...
He hung 303yds and 3td's in Philly this season. Not his fault the defense gave up 34. That was without his running backs and Jordan Reed.
Washington defense last 3 years: 21st, 28th, 28th. If they had an average(16th) defense, just average, they would've won 10-12 games all 3 years. Not his fault he had zero help. I was late to the cousins party but I'm all in after learning more about him.

Cousins is a legit NFL starting QB. The defense he had was terrible and at times the offense around him wasn't exactly good either. You could pay Keenum an hope he puts up Cousins numbers or pay Cousins to put up Cousins numbers (or possibly better) on a good team. You gotta pay someone a chunk of money to play QB unless you draft a guy. Meanwhile the reports are the Cards are paying Bradford 20 million this year.
As for the draft of someone drops and it's a no-brainer then maybe. Sloter isn't a chump of a developmental guy so my guess is theybwill sign a vet QB and use their draft picks (they have fewer this year) for other holes.
I was really just asking to have someone give me the sales pitch. Your response is rational I just am worried that he's statistically good and still unproven. I guess we will find out.

Unproven? I wouldn't say that. You could make an argument that he hasn't taken that next step yet...so yes there is still some upside left. The Vikings are built to win now why not get a guy that has been pretty good?
Draft a guy? Yes that sounds good until 2-3 years from now you find out he sucks. You might also get a really good player. It's a risk though. There was lots of praise about what the Broncos did after Manning retired getting Paxton Lynch etc...guess what they just paid a career backup 18 million who had a nice season for the Vikings because he was likely an upgrade. I don't mean to rip on Keenum here but the Broncos are an example of how it could fall apart as if Vikings fans would need a reminder. Maybe Keenum works out for them. Maybe he isn't that good.
Cousins should be plenty good enough to help the Vikings win plenty of games. If it's a vet QB you are gonna have to pay around 20 million for that. Is Cousins a top 5 QB? Probably not. Top 10? Eh...top 15? Now we are getting close but he could ride with a teammaround him. Trust me he won't be the highest paid QB for very long. Who knows maybe a year or 2 from now he restructures and takes a couple million dollars less to keep some teammates.
The people that say he isn't very good or whatever I think are sorta in hyperbole mode. You are paying Cousins for what he has done the last few years and that track record suggests he will keep doing it for the next 3 years or more. Nobody else you can get has the certainty Cousins provides. That has a lot of value. The Vikings have made playoff runs with Teddy and Case Keenum as the QBs. Cousins is likely a better QB than both.

I am glad we got him. I was listen to KFAN the other day. If you look at his stats for first 3 years starting compared to other elite QB's his are better than a lot of them. He is just 30 years old and has 4-6 years left in his prime easily. I will take him.

Yep, and he never had the supporting cast that he'll have in Minnesota! And how nice will it be to have a QB with a NFL arm? He may not have Rodgers cannon, but he can make all the throws and have receivers running to the ball instead of waiting for it!
Of course the big question is now that he's in Minnesota how long will his knees last?

If you are still wondering about Cousins supporting cast in 2017...TJ Clemming started 2 games at LT for them.

Do we know how well Cousins did in those 2 games?

I hope we find a way to keep Robby and LaTavious, but their cap numbers need to go down. I am really curious what happens with Berger and Newsome.

I didn't look at his stats but he was .500 with a bad loss to Dallas and then followed that up with a win against Seattle.

I don't see any way Murray won't take a smaller amount unless he thinks he can go out and get a big contract like his former teammate JET just got from San Fran. I thought he would get a good offer but I didn't expect one that lucrative.
