Having said that, based on all the smoke in this situation, including all of the actual professional draftnick mocks out there, it seems unlikely we'll take him first. And that's a shame.

Because this team more than anything wants someone who wants them back, even if they're not that good.

This team simply overvalues the most meaningless things

Oh this story is distributing. I better get comfortable with LaMelo Ball and his obnoxious father.

To make matter even worse that means we will basically just give Wiseman to Golden State. Harden goes to nets and setting up a GS and Brooklyn nba finals and will likely be finals for next couple years.

I actually think the Paul trade hurts LaMelo's odds of going first because I think Rosas was hoping Booker would become available eventually. Now he has to pivot and take Edwards hoping he becomes someone teams will want later.

The way things are going, the next stars who become available will be KAT and Russell.

I've said this before, but Edwards also makes it easier to move on from Malik Beasley, as there is no way we take and keep Edwards and then not start him at the 2.

Does it though?

Have we already forgotten how when the team had a rapidly improving All NBA player who wanted to stay... the team low-balled him?

Rosas spoke of being there for beasley as a family sticks together in tough situations. I have serious doubts about Edwards and Lamelo. If we are taking one we better be trading down first and even then I dont like it. Have a bad feeling we will be disappointed draft night.

Already disappointed. Minnesota is going to settle on Anthony Edwards at number one -- without acquiring any additional asset in a trade down -- and trade for Aaron Gordon with the 17th overall pick and James Johnson.

They'll re-sign their current free agents at a rate slightly above market value. They'll whiff on any other meaningful free agent because they clearly don't understand how to generate interest in their otherworldly "system" from available players.

And on top of it all we have the accomplished head coach Ryan Saunders to lead the group. I can't wait to watch how this plays out. But at least they'll be a "family" and probably take a group vacation or group dinner before the season starts.

Thumbs down.
