Well... after 4,987 posts here over the years lamenting Rubio's shooting... at least that won't be the issue this time around. Rubio is actually one of the best shooters on the team.
This franchise has also traded for guys who happened to be really good three point shooters who all of a sudden decided they didn't wanna shoot threes anymore. If this is a team that wants to work on a system and tailor guys to it and wants to work with them, then they have time, even if you don't.
Rosas told you guys what he was gonna do from the moment he got here. At the very least, he's not lying to you. He's trying to maximize his two best players, two players that you guys don't want here anymore. Let's be honest.

Looking at the roster for the Wolves on ESPN...it shows 19 plus the Euro stash(trash?) from last night. There are definitely more moves to come. Atlanta has all bigs, Minnesota has all smalls. Does Beasley come back with all of his legal issues?
Take a look at the ESPN depth chart. They are putting Rubio, DLO, Edwards, Juancho, KAT as your starting 5. Meh? That doesn't look like a playoff team to me. What stretch 4 is actually available out there right now?
Hopefully the Wolves that have been on the roster during COVID have been working on their shots. Hard to work on defense during this time period.
As always, we are Wolves fans, this is how things go.
BTW, for those that are worried about JMAC, and how he fits on the roster...3rd string PG's don't normally add 30 wins to a team.

You forgot Bolmaro at 32.5%. Oh, by the way, that's his career FG percentage.
I... just... don't... understand.
Again, nobody here can argue that I'm a kneejerk reactionary fan. In fact, I error on the side of fence-waffling and over-the-top pragmatism more than anything most of the time. But I have some legit reservations right now.
Obviously, Rosas isn't done filling out the squad. But that's the thing... he never had more capital to work with than last night. The Wolves were in a position to add MULTIPLE players that could help THIS season.
They got Rubio out of it. He's fine... but you can tell his value by how easily other teams (playoff teams and promising teams) have moved him for somebody else.
And Edwards. He might very well be the most promising player in the draft. So that's an obvious plus. But he's also an enigma. If he hits... all is cool. The Wolves have a big, a wing and a PG who can play. If he misses... the cupboard is empty. There's ZERO chance Towns is waiting around for things to get better.
The entire franchise is on Anthony Edwards' shoulders right now. If he does NOT reach his potential, the Wolves will be looking at TWO DECADES with only one playoff appearance.
How confident are you in one guy?
It's not about THIS season. They've never told you this was the year they're all-in. This is another developmental year. They couldn't get the third star they wanted, so they're gonna try to breed assets through developing them here. I saw this happen in Brooklyn. Dinwiddie was a castoff until he got to play. Now he may be a big piece in a James Harden trade. Joe Harris was a castoff and now he's in line to make $20 mil a year. If there's nobody at the 4, guess who gets to capitalize off that? A 21 year old who went to Kentucky and actually played well at the G League level. Now we can see how he does being spoon fed assists from Rubio and Russell.
I hate to break it to you, but Towns and Russell are probably gonna get moved no matter what. Edwards may get moved if a star becomes available, so the team isn't on Edwards' shoulders. If you have zero confidence in whether Rosas can get young guys developed, fine. Then this team wasn't going anywhere even if they brought in every draft pick you wanted.

It hasn't been about THIS season for 15 of the past 16 seasons... and 23 of the 31 seasons the Wolves have been in the L.
There is no fanbase more patient than the Timberwolves'. We prove that every year.
And... every decade. Moving furniture and selling the fanbase on the promise of hope has grown stale despite new regime after new regime spinning a different version of it.

Yeah, at this point I cannot wait for the idiot Glen to sell. He screwed us on KG with the Joe Smith deal. He screwed us with Khan and Thibs. The guy blocked Wiggins from being moved because Andrew gave him a pinky promise. He has screwed us with his country club approach. I cannot wait.

Gersson, is this your burner account?
Don't do this crap. I'm not a Rosas believer. I'm way more detached from this franchise than you guys are, so I can step back and look at what they're doing objectively. I don't think it will work, but what he's doing is what he said he was gonna do: churn through the roster and constantly shuffle parts til he finds a set of guys who can work within Towns and Russell's timeline. He hasn't backed off that and he knows this isn't a finished product. He doesn't us to buy in. He needs the players to buy in. We're not gonna see it come to fruition for another year or so. All we can do is see if the players are receptive to the plan. If they are, great. If not, this team is gonna start all over again somewhere else.
I'm choosing not to get worked up over every little transaction even if I don't like them. You guys on the other hand...

I get it. I used to feel the same way you did. Apathy set in for me and now I root for the the way I root for my alma mater in college hockey. If they do well, awesome. If not, i won't get worked up over it. This team isn't worth your anger. I don't plan on emotionally investing into this franchise until Glen is gone. I appreciate that you guys have a higher threshold for this crap than I do. But nothing last night was gonna change their short term trajectory.
