Flip would never have allowed Bennett to shoot 5 threes. Same for Wiggins, Towns, Shabazz and anyone not named Kevin Martin. Even Martin is encouraged to pass up threes for long twos. :)

This needs to STOP NOW!!!!!!!
Flip has come out and said he has no problem with 3's. What he has not said is he just wants them to move the line closer and when they do his team will be ready.

Q, Thanks! Wow, Bennett was 4 of 5 on threes while Heslip was only 1 of 7. I have to say I am impressed.
Wouldn't that be something if he can develop into a 3 point specialist.
To be fair, AB was pretty inconsistent from 3 leading up to yesterday's game. He just caught fire and hit 4 in a row in like a 5 minute time span.
AB definitely has the potential to be a decent 3-point shooter. That being said, I think he's better off carving out a niche as a rebounder and roll man that finishes at the rim. His combination of strength and explosiveness is pretty impressive. Then he can probably focus on expanding his game from there.

Flip has discouraged guys not to shoot 3's. End of story. Either he doesn't understand the math behind when it is beneficial to let it fly or he doesn't like them. Either way we have a ton of guys who could be worthwhile outside shooters, but probably won't be worthwhile as long as Flip is our coach.

Anybody got a link to the boxscore for the Canada vs Venezuela game that is on now? If so, thanks!

OK I found a link here: http://www.fibalivestats.com/matches/18/16/33/50/94wMw7r5sybw/
Hmm, there must be an easier way than combing thru twitter looking for a link. For some reason, the fibalivestats.com website has no apparent navigation on the home page and so I can't find the right internal link without someone else posting it.

Canada got beat by Venezuela 79-78. Olynyk blew up for 40 points on 11 of 13 shooting, 3 triples and 13 boards. AB had a bad game with 0 points, 5 boards. Wiggins was subpar shooting 4 for 11.

Yeah, terrible loss. Wiggins and AB pretty much no-shows. Not good.

Again, I really wonder whether Wiggins has the competitive drive to be great.

I am not surprised that Canada lost. They are a really young team and that tends to show up when the stakes get higher. Sometimes when a guy is rolling like Olynyk sounds like he was it can be hard to know when to assert yourself instead of just feeding the guy.
