I am willing to move Okogie, KBD and a 1st lottery protected for 3 years converts to two 2nds after that. I think that with Teague / Dieng is a solid offer on what has been reported as a lukewarm market for Russ.
PG: Westbrook, Napier, Wallace
SG: Wiggins / Culver / Graham / Nowell
SF: Covington / Layman / Culver
PF: Vonleh / Bell / Layman
C: Towns / Vonleh / Reid
That's a solid team.
I'd definately offer them that deal, but doubt they'd bite. But hey it might be the best offer they get, you never know. I think we'd need to take the protection off that pick, or make it top 3 protected for them to consider it.
Ok so that's some decent assets to give up for Westbrook.
The next question IMHO is whether another team could or would beat that. I'd argue that a Theoretical Winslow, Herro (and maybe Bam) Dragic deal (works in the trade machine) would be better just because Winslow is already a legit starting level player on a good contract plus no basically dead salary beyond this year for Dieng. It's all depending on how various players are valued but again this is why I think eventually OKC ends up with a nice return for Westbrook who is a heck of a player despite his flaws.
I think unless the price was so cheap I would pass on Westbrook because it feels like we could end up with a similar situation to Jimmy Butler coming here and is Westbrook going to help you develop your guys around him? And Towns? Seems risky. Yes there is a possible reward but the downside is not exactly wonderful. It's interesting to consider and talk through though.

We'd have 12 players under contract w/ Reid as a two way player so room to add to a nice lineup. I think you have to ask Westbrook if he's ok with being the veteran motivator and KAT being the leader. If he is I'm on board.

Westbrook would agree to a Miami trade, not a Minnesota trade. Fashion is very important to him. Miami is the perfect spot for him.

I think we need to get any and every all-star we can - the belief that future picks or players that have zero current ability to start should be moved - history shows this.
That said...I am not sure Towns wants this - I could be wrong but I think he had an adverse reaction to the last all-star we had on the team that showed max effort.

His fashion is something special to say the least.

That's my concern also. I don't think it's just Towns...the fan base, the organization as a whole...I ultimately don't think it's a wise move. There certainly is a possibility of having another cantankerous star making everyone's life miserable and I'm not even a Westbrook hater.
Westbrook isn't the only option. Accumulated assets have shown (like you said) can be moved to add high end players. Along the way maybe you end up with some guys that are more than just guys.

I guess it's not just random fans kicking trade ideas around.

If Towns can't make it work with two of the hardest working players in the league he's gonna have a real bad stigma that follows him wherever he goes.
