Re: Cavs Lose again
Love did not play great in that game, and I'm not trying to give him a free pass , but according to Haberstroh Morris had his best quarter in the 4th. Morris was 5/7 for 11 points being guarded primarily by LeBron. Which means if Love was on him 100% of the rest of the game, you're looking at 24 points on 10/14.
So, basically it didn't matter who they had on him, and from the box score it's impossible to tell if Morris ever slid to the 3 or the 5 (or Love to the 5) at times depending what combination of bigs they trotted out.
That being said, Blatt has no clue how to use Love offensively, which is where his value skyrockets and grossly overshadows what you give up on the defensive end. My bigger concerns would be how to get Irving to involve other people and not turn the ball over so much, and coax a little better defense out of him. He's the worst defensive PG in the league, and yes that rates him lower than Mo Williams.

Re: Cavs Lose again
Well, they didn't lose again...they actually beat the Clippers at Staples. And they did it without Love (back spasms). I know it's just one game, but I still find it interesting. I'm guessing Blatt finds it interesting too, as I sense he is not enamored of Love's game.
I'll say it first. Love's decision on whether to stay in Cleveland hinges on what the Cavs do with Blatt. If they fire him (and I think they will) and bring in someone who Love thinks will be a Love bobo (like Adelman), I think Love will stay. But if Blatt stays, I think Love goes...his ego won't let him play for a coach who benches him when the game is on the line.

Is it wrong that I smile when I read of Love's tribulations? I don't get up and jump around, just a little smirk, am I a bad person?

I'm ambivalent about Love at this point. Time to move on.

Either Blatt goes or Love goes. The insane dropoff in touches is enough to drive him out of Cleveland, and I think it'd be justified. Saw a graphic that showed he's getting 18 less touch per game this year compared to last year. How do you [Cleveland] expect Love to be of great value to your team if you don't give him the ball? Cleveland gonna Cleveland.

It looks like all those minutes Love played under Adelman are starting to take their toll too. I wouldn't trade Wiggins for Love right now straight up.

Re: Cavs Lose again
I think Cavs fans are crazy if they think Wiggins looks/plays anything like this on that team. He would just be floating around on offense with limited touches as a spot up shooter. On the other end they would be expecting him to solve all their defensive woes, but he's only one guy and Kyrie and Lebron really haven't put much effort in on that end of the floor so it would look similar to what we have now. Thompson/Varejao still wouldn't have held up as rim protectors in the front court. I think Wiggins development has happened because he's the guy on this team right now. There's no Ricky, Martin or Pek to run the offense through. Wiggins was nothing special offensively during the games where he was the fourth option which is what he would have been in Cleveland. He's being forced to grow quickly and I think that is why he has. Hopefully he's grown enough for Flip to incorporate him more in the offense when the big 3 come back.

With what they have now, I can't see anyone in the East keeping the Cavs out of the finals.

Been a quiet thread lately guys. Cavs have won 9 straight games (including quality wins over the Clippers, Bulls, Thunder and Blazers). They likely push it to 10 games tonight.
Took half a season to get it rolling, but now they're playing like NBA Finals contenders and have more than enough firepower to win it. Mosgov and Smith have been good for them. I expect Shump to help them too.

I don't necessarily think they're burning it up all that much. 4 of those 9 wins are quality wins, 3 of which were at home. They won games they should with all that talent. And their February schedule doesn't look very hard. Only 4 tough matchups. The regular season won't tell us much about this team. Though I see them improving rapidly due to their trades, They need to be praying mosgov doesn't get hurt.
