Kat needs to get more shots up in the 4th quarter.
His teammates seem to largely ignore him most of the time. They could have used his offense last night.
Yes. It's startling how reliant the Knicks are on Brunson isos.

Looked like Towns was a bit flustered after being looked off for the 22nd and 25th consecutive times yesterday.

I agree that all fans are annoying to other fans. But I spent last week at a national conference full of Knicks fans and Spurs fans, and I kind of agree that Knicks fans are more delusional than most (or all) NBA fan bases. Am I wrong to think that Jalen Brunson is neither the GOAT nor the greatest clutch player in NBA history? The Knicks are deep. Really deep. But are they the deepest most versatile team in NBA history? I actually love Josh Hart, but is he more of a connector then Scottie? Iggy? Bobby Jones?

I get it, I will probably be this annoying when we get there, but I'm hoping I have the wherewithal to tone it down in public
Yeah, I went into the Finals without much of a rooting interest - more just hoping it would be a good series. But then seeing how a bunch of NY fans were arrested at one of their watch parties and how some of them attacked Spurs fans (seemingly unprovoked) I now am starting to lean toward FNG's sentiments. It also reminded me how TERRIBLE they were at the Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black - just how disrespectul and mean they were to Rory and his wife.

There is also a more practical reason to root for the Spurs as a Wolves fan. Let them get their title now! It will make them may be just a tad less hungry in the future versus some big "Wemby-revenge" saga that ESPN will breathlessly cover (queue the training video of Wemby in Tibet this offseason, running up mountains by day, meditating with monks by night).

Abe, I remember you talking about KAT's lack of crunch time touches back when he was with the Wolves. This isn't new for him. It can't be ALL Brunson's fault. He's very vulnerable to ball-denial by smaller players for some reason and hasn't figured out how to make himself a better target (think Jokic or Embiid) in these situations.

I feel so bad this morning for all the billionaires and celebrities in "look at me" row at MSG...they all have so little going for them in their lives, so I wish they could have gotten a win last night ;) .

I don't begrudge anyone being a Knicks fan...I was one myself back in the 70s. But anybody listening to NBA Radio this morning has to conclude they are the biggest crybabies of all fan bases. So many callers blaming the referees for last night's loss. But they are excusing Brunson for ignoring in the second half the beautiful ball movement offense that has gotten them this far, and instead deciding to dribble, dribble, dribble. It was almost like he talked with Ant before the game and heard him say "Coach don't know what he be talking about. Ignore the game plan, Jalen...it's much more fun to control the ball for 20 seconds looking for your shot". Seriously, I see a lot of similarities between Ant and Brunson...two ultra-talented offensive players adept at creating their own shots but for whom defense is optional. Two exciting players who the fans adore but who need to add a little more to their all-around games to crack the Top 10.

Still a pretty entertaining game, but did the 4th quarter seem like it took 2 hours? Dreadful, after a really good first half. It's nice to know we might have a series now though, so I'm glad the Spurs won.
I think the big difference between Ant and Brunson, Ant when locked in on defense is great, near ALL NBA level at times. Brunson simply cannot defend. He's a bit to short, too slow. Defense is about length, quickness strength and desire. He's got the last two at times. He's not going to grow 3 inches or have his arm span extend either. So he's limited a bit too much.

So no matter how much Brunson wants to be a great defender he'll never be one. Ant on the other hand could which is maybe more frustrating for us.
I agree that Ant has the potential to be a much better defender than Brunson, except for Brunson's toughness and willingness to take charges...he's among the league leaders in that. Ant's defensive failings seem to be more lack of interest and effort. But what stands out for me is how both of them, although widely thought of as Top 10 players, fall outside of the top 10 in most deep analytical stats. And Brunson last night showed us why he probably isn't an overall top 10 player.

I always thought Brunson was closer to Trae Young or Zach Lavine then Kawhi Leonard. Probably more in the middle, but I do think he's a bit overrated. I think the Knicks 3-6 guys are really nice pieces who are playing great. Thats what scares us all about GIannis, what is left after the trade? Hard to field a great team if you have to rely on Joan and Clark, no offense to those guys but we have no idea if they can be good even avg backup players over the long haul.
