I don't want to pump them up because they will for sure let me down. Good play. Now go on and get a home playoff series at all costs. That is the minimum expectations. Anything less then a home playoff series and win is a net failure.

That's not very realistic with KAT out and the other injuries we've had.

Disappointing? Yes.

A failure? Kind of I guess.

Bad luck? For sure.

It was nice to see SloMo bounce back with a big game after a couple disappointing outings. I suspect there was some gamesmanship on Memphis's part in deciding to not guard him beyond the arc, but he definitely made them pay for the strategy. Maybe Memphis hadn't noticed that Kyle is leading the team in 3 point percentage! Frankly, Kyle could have taken a couple more wide open threes if he had chosen to. He's sure fun to watch, isn't he?

I don't think KAT moves the needle that much, plus we added Gobert to this squad compared to last years (sure lost Vando,Bev,etc). Theoretically yes we should be quite a bit better with KAT but I still expect to see us in a top 4 position even if he misses another month. Ant has the ability to be THE best player in the NBA. There is enough talent still to be top 4. Ant Man isn't scurrrrred either. He is a baller of all ballers. With a guy like that leading our squad we need to have home court.

I just think you are being unrealistic. Ant isn't going to be the best player in the NBA this season (may be he'll be an MVP candidate in another three or four years) and whichever 4 of the existing top 10 or 12 teams in the West can stay healthiest from here on out will likely nab the top 4 slots. That's how even the West is. By definition, we're not one of those 4 with KAT out.

I wish he did, but it's true that KAT doesn't move the needle that much. He never has. Great point by WolvesFan.

If he cant move the needle with this team finally starting to gel that will pretty well seal my mind on moving on. Theoretically he has everything we are missing right now (shooting and more rebounding). But yeah, you never get what you expect with Kat.

I don't know how Kat does not move the needle. He has never had a negative plus (also never been below the 72nd percentile), Any time wiggins hasn't been there wolves second best player they have made the playoffs.

Kat can be annoying but let's not pretend Kat isn't a positive needle mover and a All NBA caliber player

I agree that "30% 3-point shooting" KAT (what we got the first 22 games of the season) doesn't move the needle much. But "40% 3-point shooting" KAT (his career average)? That's a different story.

Look, I never thought KAT was the kind of player to lead a team to a championship...not even close. But he doesn't have to lead with the stars we have plus the veteran leadership of SloMo, Rivers and Prince. Add a 7 foot scoring unicorn to the team that we have watched the last couple games, and I think you have what TC envisioned when he traded for Rudy. I admit I'm not certain KAT is going to come back healthy this season...heck, he wasn't even on the bench last night. But I'm reasonable confident he makes this team much better if he does come back.

Do you think we are going to be appreciably better when he comes back? I don't, I hope for modest improvement. If he comes back and we play at a .667 clip I'll give it to you. He's an uber talented offensive player, but the fact is he can make a bad team decent, but not a decent team great.
