Why is Coller keep saying stupid stuff like Sirles has never played guard before? That guy drives me nuts with some of his poorly informed takes.

Fwiw Wolfson has said a few times on his podcast the Vikings do have interested in MICHAEL Floyd.

I know what you mean. I like Sirles, Eaton, and Hill. I see Danny Isidora going straight to practice squad. We really need to develop a replacement for Berger this season. That is why I was high on draft Dorian Johnson. I think Sirles might be it or maybe Isidora makes the leap.

Hill seems to be the forgotten guy. I have a feeling Clemmings will be on the team and he won't.

Now that the draft is over I would give the overall offseason a B- this year. Our line should be better, but I still don't expect it to be in the top half of the league. We are putting a lot of faith in unproven young players like Treadwell and Alexander that could really go either way. While I think Cook was a steal that part of the draft, he does have fumbling issues which have plagued us long enough with AP. I also just don't have faith Bradford is the guy to lift this team up to the playoffs. I think just like last year's plans, he could manage us to the playoffs if the defense is lights out all year, but as we saw last year they might not be up to the task for 16 games and I don't see Sam and this offense picking them up as much as needed to be better than the Pakcers or Lions. I see incremental improvements in a lot of places and significant improvements nowhere. Hopefully I am wrong.

I think the key is if we can be midpack running the ball and the defense doesn't have a drop off losing Mack we will be two or 3 wins better. If it doesn't and defense takes a step back we will be lucky to be 6-10.

I'm not particularly worried about the WR position. Wright might be a better overall player than anyone they lost at that position. TE they at least added a highly talented guy in the draft and if you just need a solid blocker type those guys are fairly easy to pick up of the heap from some other team at any point of the season and that guy will likely be serviceable.

The group I think that causes the most worry when it comes to depth is the defensive backs. Even if Alexander is up to the task of rotation with Rhodes Waynes and Newman...there is nothing of significance behind them and the Vikings have added nothing of significance while losing Captain. None of the young safeties really inspire confidence although they could progress. Alexander isn't a sure thing and he is going to play even if everyone is healthy.

Ranked 21st in Power Rankings after the draft down from 19th. Packers are ranked 3rd.

And then there is McShay saying we had one of the most improved teams after the draft. That really says our FA signings were not seen as positive, but I am happy with just having a top 20 OL next year think it would be a huge improvement.

Minnesota Vikings

The Vikings didn't have their first pick until the second round, but that didn't stop them from snagging one of the most explosive players in this draft, RB Dalvin Cook, who fell further than he should have based on character and durability concerns. With Latavius Murray also in Minnesota, Cook won't have to carry the load as a rookie.

GM Rick Spielman did a nice job addressing the team's hole at defensive tackle with a high-upside player in Jaleel Johnson. He's one of the most explosive interior pass-rushers in this class and gives the Vikings some insurance if Sharrif Floyd is unable to play again. I also love the addition of center Pat Elflein. He has the versatility to play multiple positions along the interior and has the requisite experience and intelligence to make the jump from college to be an immediate NFL starter.

The Vikings didn't add studs in FA they added solid players where they needed to add guys. I'm ok if there isn't a hype surrounding their moves.
