Wolves out: No. 1 Pick, Jake Evans, James Johnson
Wolves In: No. 3 Pick, Wendell Carter, Ricky Rubio
Bulls In: No. 1 Pick, James Johnson, Jacob Evans, Ty Jerome
Bulls out: No. 3 Pick, Zach Lavine, Wendell Carter
OKC in: Zach Lavine
OKC out: Ricky Rubio, Ty Jerome
The Bulls are at #4.
And instead of giving up #4 and Wendell Carter for #2...
... They're going to add Zach Lavine for Jacob Evans, Ty Jerome and James Johnson?
Ummm...
Well, Wendell Carter isn't enough and Bulls are rumored to want to move on from Zach Lavine. Tell me what you think would be a fair deal with Chicago that passes salary cap muster?
Maybe Chicago would want more for Zach Lavine than an expiring and a couple of middling or poor prospects?
When these things are done, it's important to look beyond "how does this help my favorite team..."
I think its pretty fair for Chicago since Carter and Lavine are rumored to be on the trading block and I don't think are viewed as long term fits there, but most importantly, Chicago would get pick 1. If you think a pick or another player should go to Chicago, then by all means suggest how you'd alter the proposed trade or give me your trade scenario rather than a blanket criticism.
Ugh.
No. Because the trade is so far skewed against Chicago right now that there's nothing salvageable about it. No team is going to literally give away a 26 ppg scorer just because you're a fan of another team fleecing them in the mythical trade.
OK, I figured you would respond that way. I suspect you think much higher of Zach Lavine than most.
I've barely mentioned the guy in years... but yes...
I do think Zach Lavine is better than Jacob Evans or Ty Jerome.
Evans and Jerome are salary filler, and the fact you keep neglecting to mention the number 1 overall pick makes me think you don't think its a big deal.
I've already addressed this...
Chicago could allegedly nab the #2 pick for only the #4 and Carter. So they're giving up Lavine basically just to move up one more spot?
Allegedly? I don't think Golden State does that deal as Carter isn't enticing enough. Lavine is an empty stats guy and Chicago might be ready to dump his salary, but I included Lavine to make the trade work under the salary cap. Lets supposed we nix Lavine from any trade between the Wolves and Chicago. If Wolves take on Wendell Carter they'd have to trade Layman, Okogie or Culver to make the numbers work or vastly expand the trade or bring in a third team and I think that wouldn't make sense for the Wolves unless Chicago also trades a future first rounder with some protection.
Ok. And sometimes trades just don't work out.
My point is that a team isn't going to just give away a player in a trade... just like we wouldn't expect the Timberwolves to just give away D. Russell to make the numbers work in some trade to help another team.
If this report is true, there's a real possibility of a Wolves trade swap with the Bulls. According to this report, there are three players on the Bulls's roster potentially available for a pick swap: LaVine, Carter or White. Of these three, which one would you prefer?

I don't see it happening, but there are a lot of things I'd hate more than seeing Zach LaVine back on the Wolves. He's turned into what many of us here thought he would.

We'll just have to agree to disagree on Lavine's value and frankly, I don't really care if Lavine is involved in the trade. Last post, I said lets assume Lavine isn't involved, what trade do you think makes sense between Wolves and Chicago? Step up and offer a proposal that works numberwise.

Question marks with his defense and his contract situation. I think he's on the verge of being way overpaid. Not a bad trade idea by any means. Just not one that I would make.
