Im not panicking just yet. This team is young and still developing chemistry. I think there is a couple of things that need tweaking though.

* Rotation - I'm not one to complain about who starts and who doesn't, but we aren't getting any consistent production from our bench, thus forcing Thibs to play our starters for extended minutes. I think it is imperative that at least one of KAT, Wiggins or LaVine is the game at all times. In saying that I think our starting five is missing a cool head like Bjelica. The question is who would be demoted to sixth man?

* Rubio - I've been a supporter for a long time but even I'm starting to go full Pork Chop on him. His shot has regressed. It's flat as a pancake and when he misses (which is most of the time) it doesn't just miss, it misses horribly. I'd give him five more games at starting then if this team is still not firing I'd start Dunn. That stat that Abe stated is quite concerning - in no games this season have our PG combined for more than 15 points.

I'm more *intrigued* with the idea of starting Tyus Jones this season rather than Kris Dunn. In my opinion, neither of them impact the game more than Ricky Rubio, but each of them could bring something different to the starting lineup.

For Jones, I think we'd have a point guard that is adept at orchestrating the offense at an NBA level, but we'd add his perimeter shooting and ability to score in crafty ways. We lose a bit defensively, though.

For Dunn, I think we'd have a point guard that struggles to consistently organize the offense, and also struggles to make shots from anywhere on the floor, but is without a doubt the best athlete at the position and in turn brings more intensity on defense at the position.

I would like to see what we actually have in Jones before throwing Dunn into the fire. He's just not ready to start and play big minutes for a team that's trying to win games.

I think it's time to start Dunn. The past few games have been an offensive aberration. The starting 5 scores just fine with a scoreless Ricky Rubio and Dunn is the best perimeter defender on the team right now and we need some defensive toughness on the court. Let Ricky run the second unit where the offense is struggling to perform. Maybe he can help get guys like Bazz and Belly going. Also I'm a believer that if we're going to lose, we should get as much time for Dunn as we can so he can improve quicker and be ready for next year.

Fair point Cam, but as much of an upgrade Tyus maybe shooting the ball and organising the offense he is a massive downgrade defensively compared to both Rubio and Dunn. A backcourt pairing of Jones / LaVine might be ok against opposition second units, but they get eaten alive by starters.

I would like see Dunn play the Pat Beverley role. Be a menace on defence and let LaVine take a bigger load of the ball handling and playmaking duties.

Like I said I'll give it five more games, but if thing haven't improved this franchise needs to focus on the future and give our young guys playing time together.

I'm not totally ready to bail on Ricky, but he has been dreadful the past several games. As to whether Dunn or Jones should replace him if Thibs decides to go that way, I lean more toward Cam's stance that Jones looks more ready to run an offense. This is an unusual stance for me to take as I generally lean toward the defensive side of the ball, but while Tyus certainly has his limitations, I have been impressed with his quick hands and smarts on defense...somewhat makes up for his lack of lateral quickness. And I don't see Dunn being ready to direct an offense yet.

This team needs a shakeup, and Tyus for Ricky in the starting lineup would certainly be a shakeup. Who knows...maybe Ricky rediscovers his game coming off the bench.

Dunn deserves the benefit of the doubt for now, but I just don't think you want your starting point guard to be a guy who struggles to score. To me, Dunn is an ideal backup point guard. He can be a shutdown defender when needed, and can generally provide quality minutes off the bench. I'd like to see Jones get a chance to run with the starters. He's the only one today that can be a legitimate threat to knock down a jump shot. Regardless, the point guard position is likely to be a part of trade talks this season.

I actually like the deal of rubio for okafor. I mean its probably the top type of player we could reasonably get in a deal. Him or noel but i would rather okafor as he is under team control longer. Also him and jones are best buds so maybe that would improve okafors game. Worst case he would give us some scoring and production off the bench. I dont think u can keep rubio, especially the way thibs is using him.

I don't really have any interest in Okafor, but I'd still like to get Noel and he's said to be more available. I still think he has huge defensive upside.
