But I'm sorry, i just can't get excited about an 8th seed and facing a likely sweep in the first round of the playoffs. After the past 14 years it's going to take more than that to get me to whoop it up. Ill watch the playoff games with anticipation, but let's be honest, we blew an opportunity to get to the 2nd round some time ago.

Yes. They're the #8 seed. There is a bit of context needed here though.

But they're also one of the "best" #8 seeds in NBA history if you go by the record. And they were only 2 games out of a #3 seed... and one game out of a #4 seed. And would be higher in the East as well.

Plus, they didn't back in to the playoffs. It wasn't always pretty... but they won their final 3 games, including the last one in OT vs. a team on a 6-game winning streak with 46 wins of its own.

[Note: Maybe it's not all that unique to be a #8 seed with 47 wins? The Timberwolves also did it back in 2001.]

Same here.

Is anyone else offended that now puns and dry humor are "Dad jokes"? I'm not a Dad and won't be but I have plenty of that humor. Maybe I shouldn't complain I mean "Dad bod" is like a thing now and I have that look going on so...

Also the Atlanta Hawks Twitter account was actively cheering for the Wolves to win this game.

There is nothing wrong with "Dad jokes."

Nothing at all.

One more note about this Denver game:

Nikola Jokic is annoying. But he's physical... and very clever. How many fouls did he draw by initiating contact, pulling in arms, getting hooked up, et al?

He's smart. It's part of why he's not going away in the discussion about the best big men in the game. That level of craftiness is only going to get better. He's only going to get smarter. He's really really good.

Imagine if he started working out? Remember the leap Love took when he got extreme about fitness? Or Nash. Jokic could make a huge leap in his numbers just by focusing on fitness and diet.
