The biggest game in 14 years - Wolves vs Nuggets

Post by KiwiMatt »

Yes, yes it is upon us. The biggest, most crucial game in Wolves recent history.

Win and we make playoffs, lose and we go home. The silver lining is if we do lose we get our 1st round pick. But the emphasis without a doubt should be to win, and without the altitude and hopefully the officials on the Nuggets side it becomes an even playing field.

Go Wolves!

I was wondering the same thing when it comes to officials. We have been on the wrong end of things almost every game over the last couple of weeks. I am of the belief that Thibs yelling for fouls on every play is falling on deaf ears. Maybe someone should take him aside and tell him the story of "The boy who cried wolf". Can it be as simple as where the officials would rather spend a week of their time, Mpls or Denver?

I also think KAT's flopping around and other theatrics don't help his cause, although I believe he's been less animated in the 2nd half of the year (?).

I do think Thibs will be taking it right at Jokic to start the game. I expect KAT to get touches early and often.

My favorite subplot to this game is how 97.3% of basketball fans will use only this game to clearly annoint either Jokic or KAT far far superior to the other for the foreseeable future.

I think we can fairly assume that KAT has already bought into that narrative. Going to be a battle no doubt.

We just took our seats at Target Center. Wiggins is the only T-Wolf player on the court. He's shooting threes and making them.

We got to staples super early and he was the only one on the court that night. Got to think a lot of his performance is in his mind more than in his work ethic. Unique kid. Enjoy the game. Cheer loud.

My homer competitive juices are flowing. Biggest Wolves game I've been to in memory. The homer hankies are draped on the back of every seat tonight. Tremendous excitement in the air.

As you all know, I'm among those who have expressed a preference for finishing 9th instead of 8th. But sitting here there's no way I can help but pull for our Wolves tonight. And I won't be scoreboard watching either. I'm all in on getting a win tonight no matter what.

Wiggins is now shooter free throws. He's missing half of them - just like live games. :). But I'm nit worried.

Crazy that they did not switch around espns schedule to put this on national tv. I'm gonna be stuck looking for a crappy stream just to watch the game

I agree. It's mostly mental with Wiggins. He's a good guy and hard worker. Taj is shooting now. He looks good. Rubbed his shoulder a few times but has full extension on his shots. And he's hitting all of them.
