They're players. They're always going to try to get more money. They're just going to go after it a different way now such as trying to eliminate the cap all together and have a totally free market.

Boom.

That sound you hear is the sound of all but a handful of teams losing hope of ever contending.

SP, since you went undrafted, are you a FA right now?

His contract kicks in for the 2016-2017 season. It's an extension that kicks in when the cap jumps. The player can receive more money if they have been a 2x All-NBAer or MVP, which they're assuming Davis will become next year.

Brandan Wright to Memphis. They added Barnes last week. One of the better defensive teams in the NBA just got a whole lot more defensive!

But we've got Robbie all but hog-tied!

The number makes sense on the new cap. I've just never heard of negotiating an extension 2 years out. That's why I was confused as to how he could have past everyone for the highest paid player in the league coming off a rookie deal by so much when the most you can get is 30% regardless.

They got him for 3/$18M, an absolute steal. All they need to do is acquire a solid bench scorer and they may finally be poised to make a legit run in the WC

I hope Aldridge goes back to Portland. I dislike when stars leave their team. I understand San Antonio gives him a great shot at a title, but I still would rather see him stick it out.
