Dammit. Joerger stays in the Western Conference and now probably Vogel will fill one of the other vacancies in the West too. I'm not suggesting that Joerger can turn things around by himself, but look at what he squeezed out of that Memphis roster this year.
Can someone please hire Byron Scott, Kurt Rambis, or Randy Wittman for a Western Conference coaching opening?
Well, there is this nugget... I have always liked Kenny Smith's analysis. But selecting him as your head coach seems like a stretch. Of course, he has the Houston connection, and maybe he'll bring Charles, Shaq, and Ernie along as assistants! :)

Rockets will interview Kenny Smith tomorrow according to a source.
[Edit: interestingly, two of the three bozos you listed are former Wolves head coaches! ]

Well actually that's the 3rd good coach in a row. Let's see if he stays longer than 2 years. My guess is he will stick.

The Kings were already very talented. Now they'll have a really good head coach, making the Western Conference even more competitive. We have to hope the Grizzlies hire Wittman. And maybe the Nuggets will see the light and hire Rambis. :)

Oh, and let's hope the Rockets hire Byron Scott -- or Rambis if the Nuggests don't snatch him up.

Yeah, I guess there is hope. But I'm not sure either franchise is dumb enough. Actually, the acerbic Rambis along with Harden and Howard would be fun. What a bunch of flakes.

Kings made a very good move for once with the joerger hiring. I can see joerger getting along fine with cousins and bringing the best out of the kings. Makes the western conference tougher as others have mentioned already.

Why would the Nuggets hire anyone? Did I miss Mike Malone getting fired again?

Perhaps, but I think the conference toughness/strength is still about the same. It's just that the Kings are now a bigger threat whereas the Grizzlies' window is closing, or closed already. I don't see Conley re-signing there and committing the rest of his prime to a situation that is very much unstable in terms of coaching and the roster. Gasol and an old Randolph is about all they have. Memphis needs to rebuild.
