Cam - I agree. Nobody is talking to Taylor about coaching the team so this is not going anywhere.
Re: Hoiberg rumor-ish?
Can we stop stating rumor and speculation as fact and acting like Flip is an idiot who wants to coach the team forever. We know he enjoys coaching and seems to be picky regarding a new coach.
Now speaking from personal opinion/gut feeling, I'm betting Flip coaches 1 more year unless one of the coaches on his list becomes available. I don't see him coaching indefinitely. To me it seems like he wants to play a role in the early development, getting the team playing at a better level and then turning it over to a new coach. I just don't see Flip passing on one of the key names on his list if one becomes available. He's smarter than that.
Hoiberg coaching 1 more year in Iowa and coming to Minnesota next year would make sense. He gets a run at the NCAA championship and then takes over a Wolves team 1 year further in development which can be less of a burden on a new coach (look at Golden State with Kerr for example). On the other hand him leaving Iowa now with a good amount of talent makes sense as well for their program. It'll be interesting to see what happens in the coaching ranks this summer.
