A travesty that Mauer isnt a finalist...he had a terrific year in the field.

It's a damn disgrace this award should have nothing to do with hitting just fielding but they continually give to guys with bats as well

I think we should likely have 2 gold gloves but Mauer getting one instead of Dozier. I read an article that had the defensive stats* that said Kinzler and Pedrioa were much better than Dozier in the field. I think there may have been years in the past Dozier was more deserving than this year so...at least he got one. My guess is that the reason Dozier got his gold glove is the same reason Mauer didn't get his. It's dumb but at least some of it came the Twins way and Dozier has been deserving in the past.

* I've read that defensive stats may not be all that reliable but the article I read there was such a large gap between Kinzler and Dozier that's probably enough to give those numbers some merit.
