There is optimism that Minnesota Timberwolves stars Karl-Anthony Towns and Anthony Edwards (ankle) could return as soon as Wednesday vs. Atlanta Hawks, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. Towns, sidelined since Nov. 28 with Grade 3 calf strain, is on the cusp of a major return.

Finchie was still a little vague on KFAN this morning with respect to Ant's return...he says Ant wants to come back, but Finchie says they still need to evaluate "range of motion, pain tolerance. blah, blah, blah". If I had to guess, KAT plays Wednesday night and Ant sometime during the road trip. But who knows?

Anyways I'm excited to get KAT back, and I expect the arena will be electric for the Atlanta game.

But while I'm excited, I'm also a long-suffering Wolves fan...so I'm playing through in my head all the doomsday scenarios in my head. Wouldn't this be Wolvesian? KAT is on the bench at the start of the game and the fans respond with a thunderous ovation, and he plays well in his 18 minutes.

But the Wolves lose by 20...
