Former Wolves Showcase - Lakers at Warriors GDT

Post by 60WinTim »

I can't help it. Gotta make a GDT.

The rims are taking a beating in this one thus far. Dlo looks like Dlo - some good, some bad.

One version of the KOM has the Lakers and Wolves missing the play-in at 38-44 each, and the Warriors and Pelicans just making the play-in at 39-43 each.

There are so many teams fighting for the playoffs that most every game in the West will be a battle.

And Vando doing Vando things. I miss that motor and energy.

I'm also watching. So far, we're seeing ice-cold Beasley. DLO did his thing early with some crafty scoring. But watching Vando, he's the guy I miss.

It's actually a pretty entertaining game. 53-51 Warriors ahead at halftime. It's a pretty ugly game - neither team playing well. The Warriors are without Curry and the Lakers without LeBron. Some grist for the DLO hater mill tonight. DLO's been on a cold shooting streak after coming out hot. At one point, he threw a bad pass that caromed out of bounds. DLO started pointing as if to suggest a teammate was in the wrong place. Maybe he was right, but DLO detractors would be all over that one. :)

Not sure who to root for. The Warriors are currently closer competition for playoff positioning. However, a surge by the Lakers could knock the Wolves down to 10th place or even into the lottery at the end of the season. Tough choice. The good news is that one of them will lose. :)

Yeah, at least one of them will lose. I think I lean towards knocking the Lakers as far down as possible. A win would give them an ant-klunker and put them into the play-in according to the KOM I referenced...

That DLO turnover was more a lack of chemistry than a bad decision. Conley had an uncharacteristic 3 turnovers yesterday. Beasley was cold, but we know he can get hot and hit a bunch in a row. Vando was good.

I'm coming down where you're at. Let's bury the Lakers. It's also just easier to root against the Lakers because they're the Lakers. :). By the way, I agree with you on that DLO turnover. DLO must make a terrific lob pass to AD. Note that AD. Had no trouble catching the ball. :)

Vanderbilt has 10 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, and 1 steal in 14 minutes. But that's just part of the story. His energy, ball-handling and decision-making have been tremendous while not reflected in the box score.

The Warriors, even sans Curry, are shooting crap from the 3-point line. So the Warriors losing is not a bad thing, either, because they will start winning eventually.

All these teams are going to take turns beating each other up, thus most teams around us will continue to play.500 ball. If the Wolves can get anything going, especially with KAT's return, then they will be in good shape. When you think about it, we were just hoping they could play .500 ball with KAT out, and they have accomplished that, even if they were to lose these last two before the break (although, losing these last two would be VERY disappointing!).
