GDT: Wolves vs. Whinosauruses

Post by AbeVigodaLive »

It's my first-ever GDT!

But why would AbeVigodaLive suddenly want to post his first-ever GDT so damn early in the morning? Well, because I have to complain, that's why!

I don't go to many Wolves games. I'm cheap and probably a bit lazy. But when I go... I tend to pick some bad ones to go to. For example, I got free tickets to the Cleveland game earlier this season. It was about 4 - 20 when I finally got to the seats. The Wolves ended up losing by 89 points.

In fact, I can't remember the last time I saw the Wolves win live... maybe the 2004 playoffs? Nope. I remember going to a game on February 26, 2015. And they won! But I didn't really see it.

I got free tickets. And often, free tickets suck. I brought some kids, including my niece... who immediately got vertigo from being so high up near the rafters. She started crying. It was a big thing. But it's the Wolves... so shirley a team on its way to a 16 - 66 record would have something else for a gaggle of kids and a frustrated dude who just wanted to watch basketball?

No such luck.

Even though the ticket office said they'd normally have hundreds (or even thousands) of great seats to swap to appease the kids... it was KG's return game. There wasn't a seat in the house available. So I spent the first 30 minutes of the game dealing with a crying kid in the concourse. Then, I bought all the kids ice cream for $320... and then... watched the end of the 3rd quarter and 4th from my living room. Alone.

I did not get any ice cream.

_______________

Why the long whining story?

Well, I got more free tickets for tonight. These ones are better... about 7th row, though not center court. Anyway, I assume Anthony Edwards is out. And the Wolves just got a big comeback OT win to salvage the back-to-back. AND... in the postgame interview, the star player (KAT) repeatedly said how tired he was... even before playing 40+ minutes.

I'm not expecting much from the Wolves tonight. Cool and others... bet accordingly.

[note: yes. i'm apparently the type of guy to (1) complain even though it's free (2) think people care about the very minor misgivings in my life.]

Its all about Abe. Nice. Get there early and hit a couple of 3s. Maybe Finch will give you some burn.

Joke's on you, Abe. You're not only likely to miss out on Anthony Edwards, but I think Fred VanVleet is expected to be out as well. It's a good thing you'll get to witness one of the eight good games Malik Beasley will have this year. Tell us how the power of friendship feels in person!

Damn. I wanted to watch VanVleet and show off how crafty that guy is to the young PGs I'm taking.

11-0 run here for the Raptors. The Wolves are hurting themselves early.

Ugly quarter. The raps sure muck it up. Achiuwa and OG are going to be a load for a long time for them.
