Alan Horton Interviews

Post by 60WinTim »

Alan Horton was the guest host on WCC0 830's "Sports Weekend with Steve Thomson" that ran from 2:00PM to 6:00PM today (actually to 5:30). I did not listen to the whole thing, but he had the following guests on during the show:

https://www.audacy.com/wccoradio/listen#discover

Bruce Pearl ~3:08
Chris Finch ~4:08
Walker Kessler ~4:37
Chad Hartmann ~5:08 (kind of off-the-wall stuff...)

There's some good stuff there! You will like Walker even more than you do now! :)

Tim - I haven't watched yet. Do you think that even I will like Walker more? :)

His coach had some great things to say, too...

Dang, I just tried that link and the 2-6 show is no longer displayed as an option in the guide. :( There really was some good stuff. If anyone figures out how to find the podcast, please post it...

I also found and listened to them. Great interviews. Tim was right. Hard not to really like Kessler after listing to him and Bruce Pearl. It's becoming increasingly clear to me that I've underestimated Kessler's quickness and athleticism. It's the big white guy bias. One of the most interesting parts of Kessler's interview was his response to Horton's question about whether he's always been known for his defense and shot blocking. I was totally surprised to hear Kessler say no; that he was known in high school for his offense - as a stretch big. That's fascinating. And it tells us there's a part of his game that might have simply gone dormant when he got to college and they wanted to maximize his value by getting him to focus on defense. The Kessler story is getting more and more intriguing.

One of the more entertaining aspects of this forum is watching your emotional swings! I'm sure I'd be guilty of the same if I had a single clue about basketball! LOL
