Can't see the Bulls front office letting Thibs go after all he's done for that team. To me, he's a top-three coach in basketball along with Pop and Carlisle. His schemes are strong, player development is tremendous, his players would die for him and he gets results regardless of who he has on the floor.
With that said, if Forman is dumb enough to let him go, I'd hope Flip is smart enough to sell the franchise to him. You might say, "There are better destinations for him to go." Well, is there? All of the true contending teams in the league have a head coach they're going to stick with. The others are bottom-dwellers that have a recently hired coach that they'd stick with. The others are treadmill teams with no real sight of a championship in their future.
I wonder if this would happen (if it even did) before or after the draft because if it's after, Flip could sell Rubio/Wiggins/Johnson/Dieng/Pekovic (or something like that) with young, good pieces off the bench to him and let him mold it into a great team.
Our high potential is pretty clear to everyone in the basketball world, regardless of our record. If it wasn't, it should be now when you consider we're the first team to ever have four participants in the Rising Stars game, and one of them is the runaway leader for ROY. Add to that we'll have a top-five pick this summer and at some point, 24-year old Ricky Rubio will return to the floor. That's a lot to work with for a coach as long as he knows what to do with it, and Thibs clearly does.
Could we be that lucky?
(Probably not, but it's fun to think about.)

Ya even if fired I don't think he would come to Minny. I think NOLA, with Anthony Davis might be a player that Thibs drools over. (Monty is probably going to get fired). Also Sacramento might offer a whole lot more money than Taylor is willing to pay a coach.
Cleveland after the season also if Blatt goes splatt.... He couldn't say no to that.

Don't kill me here but I consider thibbs is a lot like Harbaugh, he is successful but I am guessing he wears out his welcome. Do we want a dictator as a coach and would the young players respond to that coaching style. He would be good but how long would it last, I would take him but it would worry me a little

I don't want him to turn Wiggins into a corpse like Deng. The dude runs his players into the ground which is grinding their durability down to nothing. They are losing 5-10 years of effectiveness out of their careers because of the minutes they play. Even Pop knows to rest guys. Thibs meanwhile plays guys 40+ minutes on a back to back. No team will ever win a title with Thibs as the HC because there will never be enough left in the tank for the playoffs and a title series. He's a great coach, but he has poor judgment on how to keep guys fresh both throughout the year and going into the playoffs. It's why the Bulls have injury issues every single season and given our luck with injuries there'd be nobody left to play come playoff time.

To be fair... every player is different. Why do some coaches get credit for playing guys big minutes... and others get ripped?
Jordan averaged 38 mpg.
Garnett played 39 mpg for more than a decade.
Durant averages 38 mpg.
Karl Malone averaged 37 mpg EVERY game for 19 seasons.
Deng played 38 mpg with Vinny Del Negro. It went up an entire 1 minute per game with Thibodeau
Only Butler and Gasol are over 30 mpg for the Bulls.
That being said, hard-driving coaches do have a shelf life. Just ask Scott Skiles. Is that fair? Or, just easier to blame coaches rather than players?
