Worst Team Ever?

Post by Carlos Danger »

We have now crossed the half way point with regard to games played. Seven wins were recorded in the 1st half. If they do the same the second half, that's 14 wins which would be the worst win total ever in Wolves history. I know we had some injuries. But injuries aside....I don't think we should be losing this many games. Does anyone here see any sort of improvement from the start of the year? I do not which is very disappointing. Was this year just a genius plan by Flip to tank? Or should should someone else be coaching this team next year?

Flip shouldn't have been the coach this year. The only good move he made on his staff was get his kid. Everyone else was a bad hire. Hopefully he can find someone decent to take his place and keep Ryan to continue to work with our guys because he did a lot of good work with Wall and Beal in Washington that I think he'll really be able to help out guys like Wiggins and Lavine moving forward.

You can't miss the players we've missed and make any definitive judgment on the job Flip has done. We just haven't had our team this year. I will say this - If Ricky, Pek, and Martin had played in most of the games, this would be far from our worst team ever.

Yeah, gotta agree with cool...difficult to judge the job coach Flip has done since he is trying to compete essentially with mostly backups. But to answer your question about whether there has been improvement since the start of the year, I would say that there certainly is some evidence of improvement. Wiggins is better than he was at the start of the year. Muhammad (before he got hurt) is better than he was at the start of the year. And Gorgui, Bud and Hummel are all better than the were at the start if the year. And if you just want to take our performance against one opponent, we competed much better last night than we did earlier in the year against the Pelicans.

I'm curious to see what Flip can do with this team once Ricky comes back, especially if the rest of the team is mostly healthy also. If the Wolves don't play .500 basketball once they get everyone back, I will question whether we have the right coaching staff in place.

Why wouldn't Flip want all his deserved credit? When MN makes the playoffs in the very near future Flip will get the praise he deserves if he sticks it out as coach. Then comes reality check time where once MN makes the playoffs he's got to look at his weakness and evaluate the coaching market and seriously consider replacing himself if there is a better long term fit.

Handing the team off next year would be the easy way out and kinda weak in my mind.

Flip is only playing caretaker until Fred Hoiberg is coming in 2016.

You heard it here first!

You guys are putting a lot of faith in a top 20 pg, top 15 sg maybe, and when healthy top 15 Center. I just don't see it. Even with them back, Dieng and Wiggins are the best players on this team

Hoping someone gets tired of being at his dream job is pie in the sky wishful thinking, and sadly I think Flip is hoping this happens. He's better off asking Coach K at Duke if 1000 wins is enough.
