Bucks -- Larry Sanders

Post by Camden [enjin:6601484] »

I'm sure this is probably a long shot, but the Bucks might have interest in Pekovic and they also have cap space to sign him to a pretty lucrative deal. It remains to be seen if MIL will pursue Pek, though.

Would you S/T Pek to Milwaukee for Larry Sanders?

I gotta tell you, I think I'd pull the trigger. I love Pek, but boy what a fit Sanders would be. We'd also save a ton of money.

Do you know what kind of contract he is under right now? If he's cheap for a few years he's one of the few I would consider

He costs $3M this upcoming year. Then he's a RFA. He won't command $12M I don't think.

I will be tempted but i dont think the bucks will trade sanders now. He will be cheap next season and is becoming a legit dpoy candidate. He is a good young building bloc for the bucks and makes more sense for a rebuilding team like the bucks than pek would for them.

Probably not, but it's worth making a thread about. They have Henson they could turn to. Knight/Mayo/Ilyasova/Henson/Pekovic could be enticing. I agree he's a building block, though.

I'd take Sanders over Pek, but I doubt Bucks would do it. We could have drafted Sanders (or George or Monroe or Hayward) instead of Wes.

If Saunders plays at least as well as he did last year he is gonna get paid too. Splitter got 9 million and based on just last year I'd take Saunders over him. IF Saunders is good he will get Minimum of 10 million so its not like he will save money long term.

I'd be shocked if Milwaukee is interested in moving Sanders for Pek... would only be if they decide his Cousins-like moments aren't what they want. More likely, they extend him. Right now, they're at around 41.8 mil for 12 players... extend Sanders at 9 mil and they're just a hair under 48 mil. They'd have their defensive stopper long term, with Zaza to back him up the next 3 years. And they'll get to the minimum for teams with 3 cheaper signings.

And if both Sanders and Zaza are signed there, the last potential big bidder for Pek is probably gone.

No way MIL does that deal. I'd be all over it though
