Ill just leave this here. If he is forcing his way out we may be able to make a play here.

I agree with the author of the article that talk about Booker wanting out of Phoenix should be viewed skeptically. I'm especially skeptical after the Suns' 8-0 performance in the bubble. If the Suns struggle next season, then perhaps we can start talking about Booker wanting out and a potential opportunity for the Wolves to pounce. But until then, I'm not putting much stock in the the podcast comment referred to in this article.

Having said that, the Wolves should definitely explore the possibility of acquiring him. I think they'll find out there's no realistic chance of getting him right now, but you never know. In any event, I'm not necessarily in favor of giving up a lot of valuable assets for another defensively challenged all-star. In my view, if we're going to trade out of our top pick for a star-caliber player, it should be Simmons and maybe Beal, but not Booker.

I think this is another scenario where a three-team trade might be good for everybody. I think the Sixers would be willing to part with Ben Simmons if it meant getting Devin Booker. I think the Wolves would give up a bevy of assets if it meant getting either one of them. I think the Suns aren't an ideal fit for Simmons given the pieces they already have, but maybe they'd have interest in an Anthony Edwards plus other pieces and picks?

Like you, I too would value Simmons higher if I was Gersson Rosas, but I'd obviously still be interested in Booker if that three-team deal never manifested itself. This could set itself up to be a very interesting situation in the near future or even a year from now.

I don't really care about the complete basketball fit with Russell/Booker/Towns. They can all shoot the ball, play off the ball and control the ball. That's enough to be a top team in the West during the regular season. Then you just need to figure out what tweaks need to be added around them. Nobody else in the league has that kind of offensive firepower in their prime. I'm certainly not gonna be nitpicky about the fit if we have the opportunity to have all 3.

If Booker is anywhere near reachable for us we empty the barrels to get him.

One of those "we'll figure out the rest later" situations.

Just a clickbait article. Phoenix has no more motivation to trade Booker than the Wolves have of trading KAT. Phoenix has him locked up for 4 years.

Definitely an interesting thought, but the article felt a bit random and more of a talking point than breaking news. That is to say it doesn't look like he's at the point where he's forcing his way out of town, and I can't see the Suns trading him unless he does. If the Wolves were to have a shot at him, I'd definitely be willing to part with anyone not named Towns to make it happen, though ideally we'd keep Russell as well.

Getting 3 potential stars that young would be unprecedented. You absolutely have to do it. Its not like we have any breakout stars waiting in the wings on this team. Every one of our role players is replacable.

Given Rosas' emphasis on stars and a knack (so far) of finding cheap, but fairly effective rotation players (McLaughlin, Reid, etc.) my guess is he is leaving no stone unturned in trying to land a 3rd big-name player.
