I wonder when the regular season is supposed to end. Will be interesting to see how condensed the schedule will be. I expect lots of back to backs and maybe 3 straight nights in some cases.

They are only playing 72 games, so I don't think it will be too bad in terms of back to backs, etc.

Normal ending date. They want to finish before the Olympics

I'm thinking by December 22nd, they normally would have played around 22 games. So somehow they are going to have to fit in an extra 12 games if they want to finish in a normal time frame. That's an extra 3-4 games per month. Expect more load management.

Seems like 60 - 66 games would have been optimal.
I assume this is because of tv contracts? Didn't they need to play a certain amount of games to keep those in good standing?

Bigger news is the salary cap remains unchanged. I think that's a big deal.

That's quite the timeline things are gonna move fast. Teams have had a lot of time to prepare but it will still be interesting because it looks like the new year basically starts about a month before the season. It will also be interesting to see if Rookies will be able to have as much impact since they will have less time to integrate into their new teams...same with some free agents. Gonna be an interesting season.
I'd guess starting December 22 there will not be any days off during the holidays so that will get in a few games they wouldn't normally have. I'd also guess the all-star break will be much shorter.

This is shaping up to be a fun off-season at least. We won't have to wait long to see the guys drafted suit up or any new free agent acquisitions. It'll be more NBA 2K styled.
