Who Would the Wolves Pick if Draft Were Today?

I watched the full press conference in which the Wolves 2nd in command, Sachin Gupta, said the Wolves are ready to make their pick. I really like him. He's obviously a smart dude and he also seems like aa really nice guy. Listening to him gives you some confidence in the Wolves front office. Here's an exact quote from Gupta's presser:

"We feel pretty good about where we're at. We're ready to pick," Gupta said. "There is still information flowing in from different prospects. The NBA is doing a great job trying to salvage the draft combine process and pre-draft process. ... But we feel really good about where we're at the at the top of the draft and are ready to pick if we have to."

The question for this thread is this: If the draft were held today, who do you think the Wolves are "ready to pick" and presumably keep?

Cool -- I really, really, hope you're wrong. I go back and forth with Rosas. I still have a hard time looking past his mismanagement of last year's draft. On the other hand, perhaps it was just a rookie mistake. Moreover, Rosas didn't have Gupta with him for last year's draft. I just have to hope this front office is savvy enough to pass on Ball. I could accept drafting Edwards at #1, but not Ball. Hopefully, they draft Wiseman and either keep or trade him for good value and the rights to Okongwu.

Unfortunately, I fear that you're right. First of all, you've been pretty accurate in your predictions over the years. Secondly, the fact that the Wolves have already met with Ball and apparently haven't met yet with Wiseman or Edwards might be a sign. On the other hand, meeting with Ball recently but not the others could just be an issue of timing with slightly more than 2 weeks left before the draft. Or maybe the Wolves were trying to send a signal to draw see how much interest there is in Ball. That would be a savvy move by our front office if true.

In spite of my fear that you're right, I'm predicting that the Wolves will take Wiseman and trade down for another asset along with the rights to Toppin. I'd be fine with that move, depending of course on the other assets the Wolves receive in return.

It seems to me that based on what Gupta said they have done all their homework it doesn't really matter who they have or haven't met with. I'm still going with Wiseman because I think he has the most talent, highest floor and let's be honest...fit none of the supposed top 3 guys really fit well on the roster for various reasons. Like Cam suggested in another thread for all we know they have another guy at the top of their board.

The one hope I have is that the FO moved on from Wiggins swiftly, and they may avoid Edwards due to the similarities of having elite talent but shot chucking and lack of turning it on defensively.

Who knows, after November 3rd the peaceful protesters might just burn down all of America, steal all the devices used for zoom, and there won't be a draft.
