I'd say for this list guys can't be even fringe starters. They need to be bench fodder. Now obviously some bench fodder will start games espcially for this franchise but they can't top out as more than decent rotation players. They probably need to have played at least 20 games with the team. Here is the list off the top of my head. In mostly no particular order.
#1. with a Rhino...Craig Smith Man that guy was fun to watch.
2. Reggie Slater. Wasn't completely terrible played hard was short and wide and athletic. Was a small ball center back before it was cool.
3. Oliver Miller I don't have to explain why.
4. Brian Cardinal Another modern big before it was cool. he is one of those players that don't seem to matter but we probably should have kept him around.
5. Ryan Gomes started alot of games and played decent on a bad team but seems like that wasn't an accurate representation of how good of a player he was. Still was decent tho. He would be a stretch 4 now.
6. Gary Trent classic brute PF.
7. Sebastian Telfair...he sorta grew on me as a passing PG that was smart at running a team and put for the effort but wasn't good enough at anything.
8. Mark Madsen hustle guy better athlete than given credit for and seemed like a good dude.
9. Ryan Hollins athletic freak had a bit of an edge and was seemed to know what he was doing one minute and lost the next.
10. Robbie Hummel looks like I saved the guy I like the most as a person for last.
Guys too maybe too "good" for this list but not really true starter level players but worthwhile rotation guys or worthwhile starters for a couple years.
Luke Ridnour
JJ Barea
Anthony Tolliver
Dean Garrett
LaPhonso Ellis
Corey Brewer

1. Mark Madsen. Granted, I did not like him. But many others did...
Fun facts:
- Put the ball in the basket only NINE (9!!!) times in his final two seasons combined. Started 7 of those games.
- 6 - 33 fg (18%) on dunks and layups... and 3 - 16 on free throws (19%)
- But, he did have 12 TOs and 43 fouls!
That man made $5M for his "efforts" and "hustle!"
That wore me out emotionally... I need to take a break before coming back with more. But monster started a nice list for others to chew on.

I thought about putting a note after Madsen's name that simply said "Abe just let me have this one." =)

You mean Tyus Jones?
Their superficial stats are pretty close... but Jones distances himself when advanced stats are brought into the discussion... whether in MN or MEM.

Sorry yes Tyus. How much are advanced stats swayed by who you play with?

Dunno. But Jones has a positive VORP whether on a 50+ loss team or a team that won 47 games.

It's an interesting question there are some similarities to their games. I'm a fan of both guys. Tyus is simply better. Why?
Better defender. Tefair was even smaller than Tyus and he put forth some effort but his best asset was digging coming off his man. Tyus has a better knack for getting steals and the advanced stats and watching the game it looks like the team plays better on that end. Neither guy played with many guys that were good defenders.
Telfair was good at running a team and he would make some good plays with the ball but a big problem was many of them were not accurate. They would get to a guy but he would have to reach for them or wouldn't be where he could just grab it and let it fly....well Timberwolves never do that but... lol The only thing Telfair Had on Tyus was quickness but his penetration intro the defense wasn't as worthwhile since his passes didn't get guys the looks they could have. Tyus when he makes a pass it's pretty accurate and he makes some really good passes at times. Telfair has a relatively low turnover rate but Tyus easily beats him there and assist to turnover rate...not even close.
As a shooter Tyus blows away Telfair. TS% for their careers Telfair is 47.8%. Tyus is 52% Telfair had 1 season he finished with a TS% over 50%. Tyus has done that 3 times already. I thought Telfair was a guy that would have possibly benefited from taking a higher volume of 3's. Idk if he would have been willing but maybe he would have been better in this era in that regard. If he would have been able to hit 3's he probably would have found his way more as a backup or even 3rd pg that could have played off the ball some. Still Telfair was a terrible shooter from 2 point. After a poor rookie year Tyus has been pretty efficient from 2.

Not a Timberwolf but this seemed to fit the spirit of this thread. Behold the Hudl (local Nebraska company) "Kenny Willekes's HoopMixtape 2013" of Vikings 7th round pick former walk-on at Michigan state...in football. lol
