Trade Lineage Tree

Post by Jester1534 »

I've done a couple of these for the Twins but one thing I love about a trade is it can effect a franchise for a long time.

June 2017
Wolves Received Jimmy Butler Traded and No. 15 Pick (Justin Patton)

Traded the Bulls for Zach LaVine, Kris Dunn, No. 7 Pick (Lauri Markkanen)

Nov 2018
Wolves Received Robert Covington, Dario Saric and Jerryd Bayless, 2022 2nd round pick (Yet to be Made)

Traded to 76ers Jimmy Butler and Justin Patton

June 2019
Wolves Receive Jarret Culver

Traded to Suns Saric and Number 11 pick

February 2020
Wolves Recevied Malik Beasley, Juancho Hernangomez, Jarred Vanderbilt, and Evan Turner's expiring contract and Hawks 2020 pick

Wolves traded in 4 team trade Robert Covington, Jordan Bell, Keita Bates-Diop, Shabazz Napier, and Noah Vonleh

Nov 2019
Wolves Recieve Rubio and essentially Jaden McDaniels and Bolmaro

Trade to OKC the Atlanta pick and James Johnson

August 2021
Wolves Receive Pat Beverley

Trade to Memphis Juancho and Culver

August 2021
Wolves Receive Tauren Prince and 2022 2nd round pick

Traded to CLE Ricky Rubio

This long way of saying Thibs move in 2017 is still effecting this franchise

The way I like to look at these is the team better than when they made the original trade.

As it stands it would be

Zach Lavine, Lauri Markkanen and Kris Dunn

Wolves Still have Vando, Jaden McDaniels, Pat Beverley, Bolmaro, Malik Beasley and Two 2022 2nd round pick that hasn't been made yet.

The best part of this is you could argue it could live on because Beasley and Prince are probably pretty high up for trade chips we have at the deadline.

Good stuff here Jester. It's amazing the long reach and domino effect of these trades.

Yes there's Definitely longer ones. This is my Favorite one for the twins

Chuck Knoblauch Drafted 1989

Traded to NY 1998

LHP Eric Milton (Traded for Carlos Silva and Nick Punto)
SS Cristian Guzman (FA)
OF Brian Buchanan (Trade Bartlett)
RHP Danny Mota (Out of baseball)

We trade Buck for Jason Bartlett and draft Garza

Bartlett and Garza for Delmon, Harris, Pride

Delmon for Oliveros and Cole Nelson

Harris and JJ Hardy for

Jim Hoey and Brett Jacobson both out of baseball 2013

Drafting Chuck Knoblauch effected the twins for 24 years if you go by drafted but 15 years by the trade to the yankees

Yeah, good stuff, jester. One very minor fix would be that the Wolves actually received a second-round pick for Ricky Rubio instead of sending one out. That was wrongly reported at the time but we have had clarification since. All that means is that this tree will extend even further.

June 26 2008
Minnesota Receives Kevin Love; Brian Cardinal, Jason Collins (Left FA) and Mike Miller

Memphis gets Greg Buckner, Marko Jaric, O.J. Mayo and Antoine Walker

June 24 2009
Mike Miller with Randy Foye traded to Washington for Darius Songaila (Left FA) Oleksiy Pecherov (Waived) and the 2009 #5 pick (Ricky Rubio)

Feb 17 2010
Brian Cardinal traded to New York (NYK) Minnesota Receives Darko Milicic (Darko Waived)

Aug 23 2014
Kevin Love traded to Cavs in 3 team trade
Wolves Receive Thaddeus Young (Traded for KG retirement tour), Andrew Wiggins and Anthony Bennet (Waived)

June 30 2017
Ricky Rubio traded to Utah

Wolves Receive 2018 1st round pick [Top-14 protected] (Eventually pick turns into Okogie)

2020
Andrew Wiggins and first round pick traded to GSW

Wolves Receive DLO
Omar Spellman and Jacob Evans (Traded for Ed Davis)

So the Jaric Trade lives on in DLO and Josh Okogie.

Bravo! I forgot that he was involved in the trade that yielded us Kevin Love. That is a trade we definitely "won" at the time. But man, that original trade of Cassell + a first for Jaric was BRUUUUTAAAAAL.

Does anyone recall when that 1st round pick we attached to Jaric was finally conveyed? That is the one that brings up night sweats for me.

My memory is a little foggy today, but wasn't there one other significant asset that we got in the Cassell trade?

Not a significant asset but Lionel Chalmers was part of it too. I left him off because they waived him right away.
