James Harden Trade Watch

Post by Lipoli390 »

I thought I'd start a thread on the Jame Harden "I want out of Houston" saga. Here's the latest news:

James Harden's holiday wish list has grown longer yet again, it seems. Such is life when you're a disgruntled NBA star who's hoping Santa leaves a trade of your liking under the tree this year. Sources told The Athletic that the Houston Rockets guard has recently deemed the Boston Celtics and Portland Trail Blazers among his preferred destinations. - via Sam Amick, Kelly Iko, Sam Amick and Kelly Iko @ The Athletic

This made me laugh. I love that Harden started out demanding a trade to the Nets. When nothing materialized, his list expanded to include Miami and Philadelphia. Faced with recent reports that neither Miami nor the Philly is particularly interested in giving up much, if anything, to get him, James Harden has apparently added two more teams to his list. It's only a matter of time before the Wolves appear on his list. :)

I'd give him Juancho, Layman and a 2nd rounder.

The other two can't.

Actually I think Layman can be semi competent. I'm not totally giving up on him being serviceable. He had a poor game and is really more of a SF anyways so...

I'd also do a sign and trade send them either RHJ or Evan Turner whichever one they prefer.

Adrian Wojnarowski: The deals that they see out there in the marketplace feel like they're not good enough. And I think they hope that those those offers will improve as teams get into the season.

Apparently, Evan Turner and Jake Layman aren't enough. Although reluctant at first, I think I might be willing to include Juancho in the deal. I hate to lose that guy, but if that's what it takes to get James Harden here then I guess that's what Rosas will have to do. Nevertheless, I'll understand if there's a lot of resistance to that idea on this message board.

I know they are holding out for Adding an Aaron Brooks sign and trade and the rights to BOTH Paulao Prestes and Henk Norel but I'm gonna make it look like that's too much before caving to their demands.

I'm sure the Rockets are wanting an absolute haul for Harden if they deal him. They should. For some reason Harden wants out. Expanding his list is just a classic part of the playbook to make things more interesting...or simply a report of teams that likely checked in and did some actual interest to see what it would take.
