Had to watch the dunk contest again because his dunk contest against Zach was the greatest dunk contest of all time. Gordon got robbed. 5 50's and he dunked over Tacko Fall (wasn't fully clean over but he cleared 7'2 of Fall) and he still lost. Feel bad for the guy. He's probably put together two of the best dunk contests in the history of basketball with no trophy to show for it.

Yeah, I feel like Zach LaVine fairly beat him years ago, but tonight he was the clearly better dunker in my view. That one-handed 360 off the side of the backboard was the best dunk of the night too. And should have been the last dunk he had to attempt. And then he dunked over 7'5" (with no shoes) Tacko Fall! My goodness! That is absurd.

Great dunk contest tonight. Im not made Jones won but Gordon in my opinion should have won.

Also Dwade, Jones teammate last year gave Cohnnington an 8 allowing Jones into the 2nd round and gave Gordon an 9 for jumping over Tako

Yep, noticed that too. Dwyane Wade shouldn't have been a judge due to his obvious relationship with a contestant nor should Candace Parker, Common, or Chadwick Boseman. It actually blows my mind that they don't have a full panel of past dunk contest winners as judges.

Vince Carter, Jason Richardson, Michael Jordan, Dominique Wilkins, and Brent Barry would be a dope lineup for judges.

I mean it's a gimmick contest. And the lineup of judges is always shady (or obvious) at best.

That being said... these guys do take it seriously and money (sponsorships/viewers/et al) are at stake.

In the end, it's about entertainment and controversy can be entertaining.

I thought Jones was great, and would have deserved the win most years, but Gordon was a tiny bit better. I absolutely think they need to tweak the scoring and overall format... it's been bad for years. Gordon got hosed against Lavine too.

There were a lot of 50s... probably too many. So there's nut much wiggle room.

Just watched it and...it should have been a tie. I didn't feel either guy was better enough to win over the other. That still means Gordon got robbed. I didn't watch super long after but Gordon seems like a great dude not being a sore loser etc. He lost to guys that had absolutely terrific performances and deserved to win but man that guy has put together a couple awesome dunk contest performances. It was looking like a bit of a meh contest at first but it heated up quickly. I thought Pat C getting up over Giannis wasn't played up enough. That's a lot harder than getting up over some regular sized dude.
