Hawks fire their head coach
Hawks fire their head coach
Loyd Pierce was fired this afternoon. Are the Hawks going to be in panic mode now.
I think they are the best Kat destination. A trade like Kat for Hunter, Collins, Capela and multiple 1sts think works for both teams.
Wolves would be start. Dlo/Edwards/Hunter/Collins/Capela and Beasley comes off the bench with Rubio, Mcdaniels, naz. With the Wolves still having a shot at a top 3 pick plus another top 18 pick from the hawks.
Just think the Wolves would become very balanced if the Wolves did this trade.

That's one of my top three destinations for KAT if Minnesota feels like they need to move him. There's enough young, proven pieces there to make that trade worthwhile for the Wolves.
My only quibble with your post would be that I don't think Anthony Edwards should start over Malik Beasley in any scenario for the foreseeable future. He needs to take that spot, not have it given to him.

Fair, the reason I had it that way is if the Wolves were ever to get good i think Malik is the Wolves sixth man. Don't disagree with your take though

Watch the Hawks hire Kenny Atkinson.

I was thinking the same thing. That Rosas wanted his old buddy who shares his philosophy. Never mind that Atkinson was DLO's head coach in DLO's one all-star caliber season.

Must be nice to have Nate McMillen be your interim head coach.

There is a quote from DLO that seemed like a shot at Atkinson where he does not give Atkinson any credit for his growth. As soon as I saw that I knew Atkinson wouldn't be an option here. I'll see if I can find it later.

This quote?
"I'm not going to give it to Kenny," he said. "I still don't think he knew what he had, honestly. I don't think he knew what I was capable of in the fourth quarter."
But this blurb from a NYT piece about Atkinson's firing hit me a lot harder...
Last year's team was greater than the sum of its parts. It was routinely competitive because of its above-average defense even when outmatched in talent. Atkinson would not hesitate to bench his best player, D'Angelo Russell, if he did not like his effort. ... Players on other teams noticed the hard-nosed play. On a podcast in October, Durant said, "They've got the championship mind-set already."
Demanding accountability is mentioned in almost every piece about Kenny Atkinson. Obviously, that's not something that's ever been a priority for this organization.

That quote came after D'Angelo Russell was asked if he credited Kenny Atkinson for turning around his career. Obviously, he answered the way he did and most players would do the same as well, I think. Those guys work way too hard on their games to not want the credit themselves. But there's no denying that Russell and Atkinson were good together. Atkinson put a lot of offensive responsibility on D-Lo that year and he answered the call.

This is exactly why you don't want dlo on your team. A guy that thinks he has all the answers yet is a continual loser. I'm all for dealing Dlo, and if Towns gets upset deal him as well. Sick of this team.
