Federal authorities have filed a complaint seeking to take nearly $50,000 in suspected drug money from the father of a professional basketball player from Kentucky. Officers seized the money from Antonio Russell, of Louisville, in March as he prepared to board a flight from the Cincinnati / Northern Kentucky International Airport to Los Angeles. Russell is the father of D'Angelo Russell, who was drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers in 2015 and has played for several National Basketball Association teams. - via Lexington Herald-Leader

Thankfully, this news is about DLO's father. Let's hope the apple fell far from the tree in this case. :)

Thanks for sharing, Lip. It reminds me of this story from shortly after the 2015 NBA Draft where D-Lo's father was pulled over and subsequently arrested for another drug-related incident. It's unfortunate news, but certainly nothing new for the Russell family.

Thanks for sharing, Lip. It reminds me of this story from shortly after the 2015 NBA Draft where D-Lo's father was pulled over and subsequently arrested for another drug-related incident. It's unfortunate news, but certainly nothing new for the Russell family.

I thought I remembered something like that from the past. It's unfortunate and it must be embarrassing for DLO. Thankfully, DLO doesn't appear to have his dad's issues. The worst thing I can recall reading about DLO in this vein was his arrest for having his own weed stash in his suitcase at the airport. Just plain stupidity in thinking he could get that stash through airport security. A minor issue from a legal perspective.
