Anthony Edwards - How Tall is He?

According to Finch, Edwards had another growth spurt this summer and is now 2 inches taller than when he was drafted. Finch says he was 6'4 when drafted and that he's now 6'6. Edwards skipped the combine, so we don't have a specific accepted set of measurements. When you look back at various draft reports, you'll see his height reported to be anywhere from 6'3 to 6'5. If it's true he's grown 2 inches since being drafted, that means he's anywhere from 6'5 to 6'7. I'm not sure whether any or all of those height measurement were with or without shoes. His wingspan was listed as either 6'9 or 6'10, depending on the source. I guess the key is that he's 2 inches taller than whatever he was coming out of college. And whether he's 6'5 or 6'7, he's definitely now long enough with his 6'10 wingspan to play the SF position. That's especially true when you consider the one consistent measurement from all sources when drafted - namely his weight, which was listed as 225 lbs. That's 225 ponds of fast-twitch muscle. I'd still prefer him as our starting SG with McDaniels at SF and Vando as our PF. But Ant's extra 2 inches of length on his muscular 225 pound frame gives Finch additional positional flexibility that will probably come in handy.

If I would have known this was a thing to consider I would have paid more attention when I was in Vegas. There was reports before the draft he had grown some since college. If he has grown and additional 2" since then...oh my.

Like I said I wasn't paying close attention but Edwards looked to be at least 6'5" to me. I'll be interested to see what they list him at this year and what he looks like on TV and what you and others observe at games. Also I had never seen Edwards in person but he looks to be even stronger than last year to me. I thought the same thing when I saw him on TV during SL.

I'll mention again that McDaniels looks like a legit 6'10" out there. Dude is plenty long.

Also after that 1st SL game I was able to get a very accurate measurement of Rosas overhead reach. :)

I dont think Ant has reached his true height/ceiling yet. At 6'4, we have the next wade. At 6'6, were looking at MJ! No doubt in my mind he can still grow and get to 6'8 next year and were talking about a hybrid mj/lebron. Does wingspan increase when height increases? I think ant will have a 7inch wingspan when all the growing is done. The league better watch out!

One guy who definitely grew was Jaden, as Monster mentioned. Dane Moore was saying he's taller than KAT! Man, he is going to be just a menace defensively with that length and ability to stay in front of smaller players.

As for Edwards, I think he was probably one of these guys that was closer to 6'2" or 6'3" barefoot when he was drafted, which isn't that tall. So his height now is probably closer to that of a conventional wing. What has always been his most distinguishable physical trait is his strength. People just bounce off him.

FWIW last season NBA.com had him listed at 6'4" last season and teams are supposed to submit actual heights. I do hope he has grown because even though he looks and plays bigger I did notice at times last year how compared to other guys he was probably 6'5" at best.

Anthony Edwards looked even with Malik Beasley in height last year to me. And about an inch shorter than D'Angelo Russell. I'd say he's around 6'4". If Edwards has grown two inches, I'd expect him to be noticeably taller than Beasley this year and barely taller than Russell.

NBA.com had Edwards at 6'3 at the end of his college season. The Wolves said he grew one inch between then end of his college season and the draft. So NBA.com accurately listed his height at 6'4 last season. The 2" growth spurt since last season would put him at 6'6. I don't know whether those heights are with or without shoes and maybe he's 6'5, but at this point it doesn't matter much. The added 3" of height since college on his 225 pound muscular frame, combined with his 40" vertical, makes him a dynamic physical force at either the SG or SF position. Charles Barkley had a hall-of-fame career playing the PF position at 6'5.

To me, Edwards looked slightly taller than Beasley and even with Russell last season. It's really hard to tell from TV or photos and obviously I wasn't at any live games last season.

I think it's worth noting that some people posture that makes them look either taller or shorter. I have a friend who is 5'11.75" but people always assume he is like 6'2". He just stands straight and for some reason just LOOKS taller. Larry Nance...when I see clips of him playing I swear he is 6'10" but he really isn't.

Yes. And a person's frame can also impact perception of someone's height. Edward's stocky frame probably makes him appear shorter.
