Allen Crabbe

Post by Leado01 »

Thoughts?

We picked up a bigger expiring contract and could give him some run to see if he can get his groove back.

It's not that exciting unless it's part of a larger deal.

I'd like it more if he wasn't blocked by multiple young guys we are already developing in Culver and Okogie. In theory he boosts our 3pt shooting but the only way he plays is if Culver is just a PG for the rest of the year.

Im guessing this is setting up the signing of Martin. Because it was a 2 for 1 trade

Teague wasn't coming back and neither was Graham so sure, good deal. Just so we don't see them play.

I remember seeing him a lot in Brooklyn, so there should be some familiarity between Crabbe and the assistant coaches.

Crabbe will not hesitate to shoot, so that's good (shot 7 and 6 threes a game in his 2 seasons in Brooklyn), but man when he went cold, he'd destroy the Nets).

He's absolutely useless at anything else, so his outside shot is his only redeeming quality. My guess is that they'll try him out just to see how the offense looks with him as a placeholder and then eventually he'll cede his minutes to Martin by March.

In the long run I don't see this trade meaning anything. We got no future assets. Crabbe is a borderline NBA player. Wolves don't have to cut anyone to get Martin full time cheap multi year non-guaranteed contract. Wolves now can sign another 2-way contract player.

Also rumors that I don't know how true they are but that Towns and Teague don't see eye to eye

Teague did seem like a Thibs hangover to me. I seem to remember him sticking up for Butler and Thibs so I'm sure KAT and him are not buddies. Butler and Thibs, lol.

I didn't think we would get a good 1st. But I did think we would get a late 1st because that's what the Bucks paid to get G. Hill.

I was wrong.

My thought too. At least we know we have someone else who wont hesitate to pull the trigger from 3. He may even make for than 30% of them.
